That's right fatter. It's totally possible to spend a couple hours every week at the gym and make no progress at all. That's why it's very important to be doing the right things and that's the entire point of this video. Im going to help you understand and avoid the biggest gym mistakes that cause most people to sabotage their workouts. By far the number one biggest mistake is focusing too much on cardio and not enough on weight training. Most people are under the impression that cardio is the best workout for fat loss but that is pretty far from the truth. When we compare a cardio workout to a weight training workout at face value it looks like the cardio workout is actually burning more calories. However when we compare the total fat burning effects of a cardio workout versus a weight training workout over the course of let's say 3 days that's when we say that weight training has a significant advantage over cardio. you might have heard of something referred to as the afterburn effect, which simply means that your body continues working to repair your broken down muscles and return to homeostasis. Of course it does take time for your body to return to normal after a cardio workout but after some challenging weight lifting it's going to take a lot longer and a lot more calories to fully recover. The idea that weight training is for building muscle and cardio is for burning fat is completely wrong and it's a myth that you should just forget about. If you want to speed up fat loss you can definitely do both weight training and Cardio. If you're doing it in the same workout do your cardio after you do your weight training this way you have maximum energy for all your heavy lifts and this way you can also deplete all your glycogen stores so you could burn primarily fat during your cardio workout. Or if you want to do it on separate days from your weight lifting you can do that as well. But if you have to choose between cardio and weight training I would a hundred percent go with the weight training. The second huge mistake that people make is not training at a high intensity. And when I say hi intensity everyone thinks of high intensity interval training. But thats not what I'm talking about at all. High intensity interval training is just one way that you can perform your workouts at a high intensity. Hitt type of training is where youre doing exercises back to back with very small break times while still usually using a moderate weightloaf. It's no secret that high intensity interval training will help you burn fat but there are a lot of different ways that you can create a higher intensity workout with weights. For example powerlifters have a very long afterburn effect after their workouts even though to a bystander it might look like they're resting more than their actually working out. In fact a powerlifting workout looks almost exactly the opposite of a hitt workout. So how did they provide a similar effect? Well there's a couple different ways you can affect the intensity of your workout. You can stack back-to-back sets reps and cut down rest time to increase the volume of your workout. Or you can just increase the weight load. Again this is a situation where I really like the idea of doing both. You should be doing heavy weight training days where you're focused a lot more on giving yourself an adequate amount of rest time to perform heavy lifts. And you should also have weight training days where you're focused a lot more on volume through sets reps and low rest time. The major mistake that I see people making in regard to intensity is just simply taking it too easy at the gym. This actually brings me right to the third mistake you're afraid of discomfort. You get out of breath you take a break or the weight starts getting heavy and before you come anywhere close to failure you rack it. There's a little something that if you're seriously chasing after results your gonna have to chase as well and it's something known as Progressive overload. Results don't come without Progressive overload. Let's break down what these two words mean. Progressive is defined as proceeding step by step and my favorite

Weight Gain Diet Tip Number One: Calorie Surplus (Structure) Tip number one will have to do with how you structure your calorie surplus during your bulk. Troy recommends that you consume more healthy fats and lean protein's during your bulking season as opposed to increasing your carbohydrate consumption. This will prevent a glycogen spill over effect which will be stored as body fat. Eating more healthy fats, increasing your protein intake and lifting heavy weights should be the foundation to a proper bulking season and this will give you the best chance to maintain six pack abs because you will be increasing your anabolic hormones. Weight Gain Diet Tip Number Two: HIIT Performing high intensity interval training is the perfect cardio for bulking season because you will increase your fat burning through the "after burn" effect. Protein powders are derived from whole food sources, and so asking "how to take protein powder" is really no different from asking "how to take chicken" or "how to take salmon". So, if you enjoy the taste or convenience factor of protein shakes and/or protein powder recipes, then including them in your diet is obviously a good idea. However, if you'd prefer to just meet your daily protein intake from regular solid food sources, that's fine too and your bottom line bodybuilding results won't differ in the big picture. As for the 3 questions above... How To Use Protein Powder: 1) Best Protein Powder To Take: When it all comes down to it, any basic protein powder is ultimately fine to use as part of your muscle building or fat loss diet. Although certain sources like whey or egg are higher quality on a gram for gram basis, the issue of quality gradually becomes less important in the context of a complete diet where overall protein needs for the day as a whole are being met. This is because your body only requires a finite amount of amino acids to max out your muscle building capability over a given time period, and as long as you're getting enough total protein from a variety of sources (about 0.8-1g per pound of body weight daily), those amino acid needs will usually be met pretty easily. My default recommendation is to use a blend of whey isolate/whey concentrate because it tastes good, mixes well and is cost-effective (check above for my recommended powders), but egg or casein are also acceptable choices if you prefer them for some reason. Or, if you're vegan or would just prefer a plant based protein powder, then brown rice protein, soy protein, pea protein or vegan blends are fine as well. (Side note: I would recommend men consume no more than 30g of total soy protein per day just to be on the safe side) The only other thing to make sure of when selecting the best protein powder for you is that the product is not amino spiked. My general guideline is that having up to half of your total protein intake in the form of protein powder is fine depending on your preference. 3) Protein Powder Timing: There won't be anything special about taking protein powder at any one specific time of day over another. So, if you prefer it for breakfast, pre or post workout, after dinner or before bed, any of these times will be fine. Just base it on what is most convenient and most enjoyable for you. So, is protein powder necessary? No, but for most average lifters it is a good way of improving the convenience of your diet, and shakes/protein powder recipes can be quite enjoyable taste wise as well. If you do decide to include a whey protein powder or some other form of protein powder in your diet, just follow the 3 guidelines above and you'll be all set. The question of "how to use protein powder" is very straightforward as you can see, and much of it is just a matter of your own personal preference in terms of taste and convenience. Most skinny guys don't really have that sense of urgency and don't look at being skinny as a problem. More often than not they it's the case of "It would be nice to gain weight" or "I'm fine with the way I am now but I'd like to be able to put on a bit more size." This doesn't generate the necessary motivation to go through the hard process of changing your diet (and stick with it) to gain weight. And if the pain of staying skinny isn't greater than the pain required to go through the process of changing your diet you won't be able to stick with it. Diet and lifestyle adjustments: TIP #1 - Setup Your Calories and Macros To Make It Easier To Eat More As a skinny guy who's generally struggling to eat enough food to gain weight healthy fats are the easiest way to get into a calorie surplus. No matter how adaptive or "fast" your metabolism is at a certain intake of calories your body won't be able to "burn-off" the energy and you'll start gaining weight. Guys who claim they eat 5000-6000 kcal / day and don't gain any weight are either unaware of their true intake or are flat out lying. So the way you setup your macros to make gaining weight easier is to go with a very high fat diet. 1 gram of fat has 9 kcal. The first step of course is to setup the appropriate protein intake which can easily be 1g per lbs of Body-weight if you're skinny. Second step is to give yourself enough carbohydrate which you set as 2 - 3 g / lbs of Body-weight depending on personal preference. And the rest of calories into fat. i.e. Male 150 lbs @ 3000 Kcal/ day broken down into: 150g of protein 280-300g of carbs 130-140g of fat I would generally advise you to avoid or at least minimize heat processed vegetable oils, anything with rapeseed oil, canola oil, hydrogenised or (partially) hardened vegetable fats and artificial transfats. Foods such as peanut butter, almond butter, avocado, coconut oil, olive oil, whole milk, kefir, yoghurt, full fat cheese, fatty fish, generally fattier meats and whole eggs are all amazing sources. My go-to source of healthy fats and calories is dark 80%+ chocolate. If I'm on a "bulk" sometimes I'll eat 2 of these 100g chocolates per day. So when it comes to food you want to avoid low fat products and stick with a high fat diet. TIP #2 - Design Your Environment / LifestyleTo Have Easy Access to Food Healthy snacks are a great choice. Great sources to have around are dry roasted nuts and dried fruits. These are easy to store and to bring with you. You want to make it easier to consume more calories. So things like not drinking water anytime before a meal is recommend so you can eat more. Generally avoid things like intermittent fasting if you need to consume a lot of calories. It doesn't make sense to fast. Eating more frequent meals can help some guys get more food, choose a meal frequency that makes you more hungry and allows for easier consumption of food. Don't forget to bring food with you. Plan how you're gonna get food. This comes down to weekly grocery shopping and always having go-to high calorie sources like nuts and dark chocolate available. TIP #3 - Track Your Food Intake Guys who are naturally skinny greatly overestimate the amount of calories they eat by A LOT. This can be solved with tracking your food intake with free apps such as MyFitnessPal. You don't need to track 24/7 365 days of the year but it is recommended to track for a few weeks to see exactly how much food and calories you need to start gaining weight. If you don't do this you're most likely going to waste your time and you're not going to be consistent. If you remove the guess work you'll get results much faster. The first is to stop using the word diet. This implies a short term solution when what you really need is a long term, lifetime approach to eating. The second is to stop listening to the age old advice of “eat big, get big” since it just is not true. In this video, I show you the real problem that is keeping you or someone you know too skinny. Often times it has nothing to do with the amount of calories that are being taken in on a daily basis, but rather the quality of the calories that are being eaten. I’m going to show you real world examples of how this plays out time and time again. Using myself as the example, and hardgainer Jesse as well, you will get to see exactly what I ate as a child that was holding back the gains I was supposed to be seeing. To begin, most skinny guys are eating enough calories. I know, shocking huh? It isn’t some super high metabolism that is keeping them skinny. That helps a bit, but more importantly, there is a dearth of quality calories coming in that often times derails the pursuit of muscle growth. A true muscle building diet should contain high amounts of each food, but only after the quality of that food is secured. Muscle building diets should consist of the standby ingredients like oatmeal, vegetables, protein sources, etc. That said, the type of diet plan that I show you here (with a sample breakfast) is devoid of most of these let alone vitamins, minerals and good overall dense calories. This can be fixed however, if you allow for a bit of a transition time rather than trying to reach your goal right away. The problem most people make is trying to make too large of a change right away. Instead, what you want to do is see if you can identify a middle ground between how you are currently eating and how you know you should be eating. If you can do this, you can more easily take steps to start eating more in line with where you want to go rather than forcing yourself to try and adopt this completely foreign way to feed yourself. Remember, if it feels too much like work, then your mind is eventually going to treat it like work and sooner or later you are going to want to “call in sick”! Eat like an athlete and treat your food as fuel and you will realize just how important good nutrition is to your overall development and performance. I applied for the supplement promotion on bodybuilding forums and was sent this 2 serving (one container) packet to taste and test. No Review was required but I felt I should give this supplement the honor of having a full fledged review. You'll find my taste review at the end of the video showing how it actually mixes as well. Mixability 6/10 - While some may claim giving turbo driven by MRM a 6 is unfair. I think its quite fair considering I'm often times pretty strict when it comes to mixing. I used a spoon on this product which is what I think is the way to mix pre workouts(personal opinion). It mixed fairly well but I did notice some odd grains at hte bottom floating and also in the bottom which you'll see in the video. I think the reason behind that with MRM turbo driven is because of it having some herbal and beet root extract. Taste 9/10 - I had the rocket berry flavor which was VERY good but also very sweet at the same time. If you can handle the sweetness of this product then you'll enjoy it but some others have compared Turbo Driven to the taste of strawberry cough medicine. Which I can understand because I did taste a small hint of that flavor as well. Overally I enjoyed the turbo driven by mrm rocket berry flavor and wouldn't mind taking it again. If you can't handle the sweetness then try and add more water to tubo driven pre workout. Effectiveness 8/10 - The effect were actually pretty good. I didn't get the tired effect I usually get about 30 minutes into the workout where I begin to yawn and feel sluggish. I didn't yawn at all with turbo driven by mrm. However I didn't feel the beta alanine effects (tingling,flushing of the skin) and I also took 2 serving(one packet sample =2). Which means I was taking in 276mg of caffeine which is quite a bit and pretty guarenteed to get you a boost of energy for some time. Value 9/10 - Originally during my video review I was unsure of the price but it's actually already available to buy on MRMs website you just look for turbo driven pre workout to buy. It's 29.99$ for 30 servings which is prett reasonable compared to other pre workouts. So the price of MRM tubo driven pre workout is pretty good in that regard. If you are looking for a cheap pre workout that should give pretty decent results then MRM Turbo Driven pre workout might work for you.
