Demand for USD declines amid American aggression (07.08.2018)

01:41
The stock indices rose at the start of the US trading session on Tuesday. The Dow Jones rose by 86 points while the S&P 500 increased by 0.22%. The Nasdaq index was particularly active, adding 0.61%. On Monday the US stocks managed to offset losses by the end of the Wall Street trading session thanks to a rise in the Berkshire Hathaway stocks and the news about plans of Facebook to develop new services. This factor provided support to the technological sector of the stock market. At the same time, market participants were waiting for publication of the job openings report from the United States. These expectations put the US dollar index under pressure. The chart of this trading instrument approached the level of 95.00. Experts say that the main reason behind a decline in the US dollar exchange rate is the yuan’s appreciation. The USD/CNY pair came close to 6.8320 on Tuesday. Analysts say that the demand for the American currency decreases due to numerous sanctions imposed by the United States against other countries. Market participants react badly to anti-Iranian sanctions and deterioration of trade relations between the United States and China. In the currency market, investors opt for safe-haven assets. https://www.instaforex.com FX Analytics - https://www.instaforex.com/forex_analytics Forex Calendar - https://www.instaforex.com/forex_calendar Forex TV from InstaForex - https://www.instaforex.com/instaforex_tv Forex charts - https://www.instaforex.com/charts Instant account opening - https://www.instaforex.com/fast_open_live_account Forex Trading Contests - https://www.instaforex.com/forex_contests List of official InstaForex blogs: https://www.facebook.com/instaforex https://www.instagram.com/instaforex/ https://twitter.com/InstaForex

Gold, oil and US indices all in focus on NinjaTrader

57:07
Check out the indicators at https://www.quantumtrading.com Risk Disclosure: https://goo.gl/nnmrwP TESTIMONIAL DISCLOSURE: TESTIMONIALS APPEARING ON QUANTUM TRADING MAY NOT BE REPRESENTATIVE OF THE EXPERIENCE OF OTHER CLIENTS OR CUSTOMERS AND IS NOT A GUARANTEE OF FUTURE PERFORMANCE OR SUCCESS More excellent VPA lessons in this week's webinar during the US session as David and I focus on commodities, indices and stocks, and in this session we start with gold which had one of its best days for many weeks, with the two drivers of USD weakness and a flight to safe haven, all helping to propel the precious metal away from the drop zone below the $1200 per our region, if albeit only a temporary respite. The safe haven flows were as a result of the uncertainty in Europe and in particular the Italian budget, but as always, this looks likely to be resolved and such flows then likely to reverse just as fast. All of this was beautifully displayed on the renko optimizer for NinjaTrader, along with the other Quantum Trading indicators for NinjaTrader, and also confirmed on the intraday time based charts. Whilst the longer term picture for gold remains bearish, this was a day for the intra gold bulls to make money with volume price analysis confirming the initial rally and the consequent congestion and reversal off the highs. Other commodities also benefited from the US dollar weakness with oil continuing to rise and with reduced volumes overhead on the volume point of control, we may see the price of oil continue higher and on towards $80 per barrel and beyond. The monthly chart for oil is a classic one revealing as it does the typical extended accumulation phase as the big operators move to buy and absorb all the selling pressure over several months, before developing the bullish trend away from this phase of price action. This is the Wyckoffian cycle of accumulation and distribution which occurs in all time frames and in all markets, and a perfect example on the long term oil chart. Finally we took a look at a couple of stocks with GE gapping up on the news of the resignation of its CEO, but continuing to remain bearish and another was RES in the oil and gas sector, which was showing an excellent breakout from recent congestion and an opportunity to develop into a bullish trend higher. And of course not forgetting the major indices with the YM in particular breaking out into a new high in the daily chart.

BVTV: Demystifying US high yield – what’s driving YTD performance?

05:06
While 2018 has been a mixed year for bond investors so far, with many indices posting negative returns, the US high yield market has – perhaps surprisingly – managed to navigate its way through the turbulence. The sector’s intrinsically shorter duration than its investment grade counterpart may explain part of the divergence, but this is only part of the story. Watch the latest episode of BVTV to find out what other factors have caused the performance of the two markets to decouple so far this year. Also – after a challenging first half of the year for the emerging markets, what do EM HY valuations look like today? https://www.bondvigilantes.com/?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=highyield

Success in Trading Stock Indexes

05:53
http://profitabletradingtips.com/trading-investing/success-in-trading-stock-indexes Success in Trading Stock Indexes By www.ProfitableTradingTips.com Success in trading stock indexes depends upon choice of index, fundamental analysis of the market sector or economy that the index represents and attention to market sentiment. Here is a brief overview of the business of trading stock indexes. Our goal is to help the trader devise a trading system that leads to success in trading stock indexes and helps avoid simply trying to outguess the market. What the Stock Index Contains There are a wide variety of stock indexes. There are stock indexes that include stocks from all parts of the world or selected parts of the world, and there are stock indexes that include only stocks from a given nation. Stock indexes such as the Standard and Poor's 500, the Nikkei 225, the RTSI, the SENSEX, and the FTSE 100, represent large cap companies in the USA, Japan, Russia, India, and the United Kingdom, respectively. There are stock indexes that represent individual sectors of the stock market. For example, The Morgan Stanley Biotech Index represents thirty-six US stocks in the biotech sector while the Wilshire US REIT index represents more than eighty REIT's or real estate investment trusts. If you are trading the Russell 2000 you are trading an index that represents the bottom two thousand stocks in the Russell 3000 index. These are mid and small cap stocks with market caps of usually no more than a billion and a half dollars. What Drives the Constituents of the Stock Index To a degree all stock indexes are driven by the economy. However, large indexes such as the Standard and Poor's 500, the Nikkei 225, the RTSI, the SENSEX, and the FTSE 100 typically rise as fall with the national or global economy. If you are trading the SPY, the SPDR exchange traded fund that tracks the Standard and Poor's 500 you will expect to see a rise in the index when news from Europe implies a resolution of the debt dilemma or when US employment figures are improving. You will expect to see a fall in the S&P 500 and the SPY when trade figures for the USA show increasing red ink or when congress is unable, again, to deal with an extension of the US debt ceiling. Many traders who follow events in Europe, for example, find as much success in trading stock indexes as in trading the Euro. When to Buy and When to Sell a Stock Index Success in trading stock indexes depends upon a clear view of the fundamentals of nation or market sector represented by the individual stock index. Success in trading stock indexes also depends upon accurate and up to date technical analysis of emerging market sentiment. How to Trade a Stock Index Traders keep an eye on general economic indicators and/or factors that drive a given market sector in order to obtain success in trading stock indexes. In addition, traders follow the big companies in any given sector. These indexes are representative of a basket of stocks. The index tracks the collective movement of stocks in the index and is a means of diversification. However, if one really large cap stock like Exxon Mobil or Chevron takes a big hit the index will adjust accordingly and rapidly. Having a clear idea about just what is happening to the individual components of the index is a clear path to success in trading stock indexes. Options trading often focuses on stock indexes. How to profit from stock option trades of indexes is commonly to follow market sentiment with technical analysis tools and scalp profits from incremental moves in the market. With options trading one reduces investment risk down to the price of an options contract and enjoys a degree of leverage, depending upon contact price. So really we get a snapshot of how markets are performing by tracking the movements of certain stock indexes. Now there are quite a few stock indexes, with each measuring the performance of a different collection of stocks. Some stock indexes show the performance of the overall equities market, while others indicate the performance of specific sector like technology for example. Although it's easy to get overwhelmed with all of the different stock indexes, there a few common indexes that all investors pay attention to. The first of these is the Dow Jones Industrial Average, commonly referred to as the Dow. The Dow is the oldest and most widely cited index. Often viewed as the barometer of health for the overall equities market, the Dow tracks the market movements of 30 blue-chip, large-cap companies whose stock is traded on the New York Stock Exchange. The companies that make up the Dow represent a variety of different sectors since the goal is to get a snapshot of the performance of entire equities market. However a common criticism of the Dow is that it really does not well represent the entire equities market. Since the Dow only measures the performance of blue-chip large-cap stocks we really only are looking at the largest and typically most financially stable companies. Companies that make up the Dow include AT&T, Coca-Cola, Chevron, Walmart, Walt Disney, and Microsoft to name a few. These certainly aren't your average companies. Another issue is that the Dow only measures the performance of 30 companies. Despite these shortcomings, the Dow is still a reliable index to follow if you want to get a pulse on the equities market. Another popular stock index is the Standard and Poor's 500, commonly referred to as the S&P 500. The S&P 500 tackles some of the issues present in the Dow, and is generally considered to be a more balanced representation of the large-cap equities market. Where the Dow measures the performance of a mere 30 companies, the S&P 500 measures the market performance of 500 large-cap companies from a variety of sectors. As a result, the S&P 500 is often viewed as the single best indicator of the large-cap equities market. The last stock index that we'll review is the National Association of Securities Dealers Automated Quotation, which is always referred to simply as the Nasdaq for obvious reasons. This stock index tracks the market performance of approximately 3,000 companies across six continents. Although the Nasdaq measures a large number of stocks, the companies represented in the Nasdaq are commonly technology companies which in general tend to be more volatile. As a result, the Nasdaq is not necessarily representative of the entire equities market, but it does provide investors with a good snapshot of the technology sector. The beauty of a stock index is that simply by tracking a single indicator you get a general idea of how the stock market is performing. Although individual stocks may differ in their performance, making it difficult to assess whether the market is strong or weak, a stock index clearly indicates how the market is performing, or at least the market that it represents. What Are Stock Market Sectors

02:53
The term market sector is used in economics and finance to describe a part of the economy. It is usually a broader term than industry, which is a set of businesses that are buying and selling such similar goods and services that they are in direct competition with each other. Analysts divide the stock market itself into market sectors so that shares of companies that are in direct competition are listed alongside each other. Stock Market - 8 Best Performing Sectors | HINDI

20:28
List of Best Performing Sectors in Stock market is dynamic. If you are long term investor then there is not much volatility. In my opinion, an investor should consider 3 years horizon for long term investment. Most the best performing sectors are benefited by the govt policies. For example, Consumer Durables and Auto Sectors accelerated because of 7th Pay Commission. Capital Goods is performing in anticipation of increase Govt Capex. Banking and Financial services are taking advantage of the growth-oriented approach taken by the government. The interest rates are within the range of affordability due to low inflation. Demonetization cooled off inflation. An investor should align his/her investment with the Govt policies and future roadmap. It will help to generate profit from stock market trading or investment. The favorable policies also help to create positive sentiments towards the sectors in focus. If you liked this video, You can "Subscribe" to my YouTube Channel. Trading Sectors and Industry Weightings

Nick Lewis, Head of Trading and Market Risk at Capital Spreads http://www.financial-spread-betting.com/spreadbetting/Capital-review.html Trading the Different Industry Sectors. Looking at the weight of the industry sectors: Banks for CAC, Commodities for FTSE, Industrials for DAX. As a complete beginner what are the easiest indices to start following? The FTSE 100 index is dominated by oil and gas, financial and consumer goods companies so a spread bet on the index is a bet on the direction in which it is pushed by those major industries. On the other hand the S&P 500 is more weighted by technology, financials and energy companies which account for over 50% of its total capitalisation. Capital Spreads is a trading name of London Capital Group Ltd (LCG), which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. LCG is part of London Capital Group Holdings Plc, a member of the London Stock Exchange. Registered Address: 2nd floor, 6 Devonshire Square, London, EC2M 4AB. Registered Number: 3218125. Risk warning: Spread betting and CFD trading carry a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses that exceed your initial deposit. US Equity Market Analysis 6-13-16

35:38
A comprehensive look at the major US stock indices as well as many of the key sectors of the US economy via various sector ETFs.
Part 1 – What Affects the Market Indices? | Trading Data Science

13:10
We love to trade the different stock indices (S&P 500, Dow Jones, Nasdaq 100, Russell 2000, and S&P 100), either via the futures or the ETFs. In this first part (of two), we studied what affects the indices and how each is affected by implied volatility (IV). Part two will describe how each index reacts to different market environments. A key part of Data Science is to use graphics to simplify complex concepts. Thankfully, we have Mike Rechenthin PhD, our in house Data Science expert, who lives up to his nickname of Dr. Data. The first graph showed where the implied volatility is on the different indices now. It was no surprise that the Russell 2000 (RUT) was the highest and the Dow Jones (DJI) the lowest as the RUT has the highest IV 82% of the time and either the DJI or the S&P 100 has the lowest 96% of the time. Subsequent tables describe the stock composition of each index and that the DJI is price weighted while the others are weighted by market capitalization. The next graph shows the makeup of each index by the market cap of each with the RUT of course being made up of all small caps which is why it consistently has the highest IV. Some stocks are found in multiple indices. Mike makes the point that it’s important to know what type of overlap you have in your portfolio. A graphical representation of the price weighted Dow Jones was displayed. Dr. Data noted how MMM has a much greater impact on the index than GE even though MMM’s market cap is a third of GE’s (it’s an old index). One hundred shares in the DIA equates to owning about four shares of Apple, etc. The final graphic was a handy table that shows the sector makeup of each index in percentage terms. You can see where you might have overlap and where you don’t. Utilities were singled out as not making up much of any of the indices. ======== tastytrade.com ======== Finally a financial network for traders, built by traders. Determining Market Direction Based on Index Performance

14:02
Can the performance of major indices give us any indication of where the market is headed? See the lastest videos: http://bit.ly/1rfTEGR After the large sell off that we have seen over the last week, we wanted to take a look at how the major indices performed during different periods of the market cycle. tastytrade's Tom Sosnoff and Tony Battista look at the overall market and what the indices tend to do when they are in the beginning of bear markets, in the middle and toward the end. This is great information to make an assumption on where the market is headed based on how the indices are performing. ======== tastytrade.com ======== Finally a financial network for traders, built by traders. 4. How To Identify Stock Market Direction (Trends) Part 1

06:25
Want to learn how to gauge the future price of your stock? Part 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0wL0McpX-l0 Visit: https://www.learnapp.co ------------------------------------------------------- Learn To Trade - How MarketScientist works: http://marketscientist.in/how-marketscientist-works-faqs/ MarketScientist Courses: http://marketscientist.in/courses/ Follow Prateek's Trading day @ mentor posts : http://marketscientist.in/category/prateek-singh-s-analysistrades-resident-marketscientist/ ------------------------------------------------------------------ Transcript market direction is actually referred to in the technical world as "trends" So a stock moving upwards, is in an uptrend And a stock moving downwards is in a downtrend sometimes stocks reach in a no trade zone or a sideways and this happens because as soon as markets go up it forces a situation of supply and when markets fall down it forces a situation of demand coming in. This was seen in the earlier half of December 2012 on the nifty hourly charts. Lets move on, when we use concepts of supply and demand over long periods of time you must realise that psychology exists on all timeframes, Except of course in tick-charts; wherever you have good volume, markets will always behave in the same way if your concept is technically sound. So let's see how you can become your own amateur financial analyst, determining whether your stock that you are stuck in or making a profit, might continue to move up or might continue to move down. Si the first thing we are going to learn is about a rally and a decline A rally and decline are seen on a per bar basis, meaning we look at one bar and then the next. Simply put a rally is an upmove A Decline is simply a down move They together form something more important, which we will discuss later lets look at a rally first, So this is one bar this isn't enough information, the next bar breaks the previous bars high and this continues to happen Now you will notice that every bar is breaking the previous bars high and its also having a higher low. This means the market is in rally mode. Also remember in a real market situation this may not happen consecutively but a general move up is still considered a rally. A decline is just the opposite, and I'm sure intuitively u have understood what I'm about to draw here. So the market falling down each consecutive bar breaking the previous bars low and making a lower low every bar So that's very simple, here is another rally, which makes a new high and here is another decline. so now that we have that, you can see that we have formed a wave structure, markets will always move in waves, markets will never plunge down or move up unless it's an erratic day or days. Over general long periods of time, markets will always move in waves and this is very healthy. So now that we have understood a rally and decline let's move on to swing highs and a swing low. Simply put the meeting point of a rally an upmove and the immediate decline; this tent, mountain or this peak is called a swing high. the opposite of this is a swing low, meaning the meeting point of a decline and the immediate rally is a swing low. Now trends are made up of swing highs and lows, people call these by different names but all technicals follow this because a swing high is a naturally place of resistance, it basically means that the markets rallied hit a supply point, either buying diminished of too much selling happened and we fell, now the longer time frame between a swing high is untouched the more important it becomes. At MarketScientist we follow trend following methods/systems, so awhat we discuss in this video and the next is extremely important, if you don't understand please rewind or you can ask questions by emailing us or writing it in the comments below. Here is a real example of a chart, this chart belongs to nifty and it is basically in downtrend, but what we have to look now is the swing highs and swing lows. I want you to take am moment and try to find the latest swing highs u can see here I'm helping you a bit and marking all of the swing highs on this chart. I've marked them with green circles. Next step is to identify swing lows, now before we proceed I want you to pause and take your time and look at the swing highs and know that you have understood this. We are basically looking for peaks (swing highs) and crests (swing lows). I'm marking the first the swing lows for you and I want you to mark the resting your head or write it down somewhere. Pause this video and find out all the swing lows, we will meet in the next video with the answers.... I'll be waiting for you then.

2017 Update of OIS Index

03:29
The OIS Index is an ophthalmic industry stock index, launched at [email protected] in October 2016, as a tool to track the investment performance of publicly traded small and mid-cap growth companies in ophthalmology. There are 31 companies in the index, with a70/30 split between biopharma and ophthalmic device stocks. Over the 13 months since inception, through November 1, the OIS Index declined in value by 12.2%. The performance of the index has been even more negative when viewed relative to the broader US stock market and the medical device and biotech sectors. It’s worth noting that much of the underperformance took place at the end of last year and beginning of this year, driven largely by high-profile pipeline setbacks for Ophthotech and Inotek. Performance in recent months has been more competitive, particularly relative to the biotech sector. As is common practice with sector indices, we cap the valuations of the largest companies, to keep them from dominating the index and to allow smaller companies to make an impact. However, because some of the largest companies in the OIS Index have delivered the strongest stock performance over the past year, our methodology has had a dampening effect on performance. The largest positive contributors to index performance since inception have been Aerie Pharmaceuticals, Carl Zeiss Meditec, and Spark Therapeutics. Looking ahead, there are several key events that could drive OIS Index performance over the coming months. For Spark Therapeutics, LUXTURNA for inherited retinal disease is under priority FDA review, with a January 12 PDUFA date. Aerie Pharmaceuticals has a February 28 PDUFA date for Rhopressa, and expects to file its NDA for Roclatan during the first half of next year. And on the device side, Glaukosexpects to file the full PMA for iStent inject by the end of this year.
Energy ETF

01:28
http://www.cakefinancial.com Today’s energy markets are booming, and that’s fueled demand for new ways to invest in the sector—including exchange-traded funds, or ETFs. ETFs are investment vehicles. They work much like index mutual funds in that they hold assets in quantities mimicking an index. But, unlike mutual funds, ETFs trade on an exchange, like a stock. Energy ETFs are simply ETFs that track energy-related securities. Some of them track broad market indices, such as the Dow Jones U.S. Energy Sector Index or the Goldman Sachs Natural Resources Index. Other track specific sub-sectors, such as oil, natural gas, or alternative energy. You can even get energy ETFs that invest only in foreign stocks. Most investors won’t want to make energy ETFs the bulk of their portfolio—it’s simply too risky. But energy ETFs can be a good diversifier. That’s because they can help hedge your portfolio against rising energy prices, which can drive up inflation and drive down the prices of stocks.
