For those of you that are new to the channel let me start over by telling you that on this channel we cover mainly the newest and hottest investing trends that are focused on making the most of your money. So, if you go to our channel you’ll find a lot of videos related to the booming marijuana industry in the US and Canada, and that is exactly because there is a lot of money to be made in the industry right now. So, in this video we’ll share with you 5 industries to invest in that might become very hot for 2019 and maybe even 2020 and some of them even for 2030. And you definitely want to watch this video until the end and not because I have pretty a voice but because the last one of the video is something you already know about that might be doing a comeback in 2019. The hot investment trends we’ll be talking about all have to do with technologies so if you don’t like technologies you could also suggest/share different industries to invest in for the future, down in the comments bellow! How FinTech is Shaping the Future of Banking | Henri Arslanian | TEDxWanChai

14:02
While FinTech is revolutionizing the banking industry and giving millions of people access to financial services for the first time, new banking models are emerging with FinTech start-ups and tech firms potentially disrupting the status quo. But business schools and universities are not preparing future bankers for these changes, says FinTech thought leader Henri Arslanian. How can designers, programmers and creative thinkers help? Henri Arslanian started his career as a financial markets and funds lawyer in Canada and Hong Kong, after which he spent many years with UBS Investment Bank in Hong Kong. In recent years, he has been teaching graduate courses on Entrepreneurship in Finance at Hong Kong University as an Adjunct Associate Professor, and currently leads the first FinTech course in Asia. His latest book on Entrepreneurship in Finance will be published in late 2016 by Palgrave Macmillan. A member of the Milken Institute’s Young Leaders Circle, Henri is a regular keynote speaker globally on the topic of FinTech and hedge funds and currently sits on a number of finance, academic, civil society and FinTech related boards and advisory boards. Henri is fluent in English, French, Armenian, Spanish and conversational in Mandarin Chinese and has been awarded many academic and industry awards over the years, including the Governor General of Canada Gold Medal for Academic Excellence. Trends Shaping Technology, Business and Society

01:00:11
Digital technology and connectivity are changing just about everything we do, from family activities to running businesses, to shopping and even dating. While technology is improving bottom-line results and driving investment opportunity, its effect on the workforce is far more ambiguous. How will the extraordinary growth of mobile usage by individuals continue to disrupt business models? Is virtual and augmented reality a gimmick or something that consumers and businesses will fully embrace? As machine learning and other forms of artificial intelligence become more integrated into our day-to-day lives, how is it altering the way we relate to each other? Finally, how will Brexit affect the future of entrepreneurship in the UK and Europe? Our expert panel will share their thoughts on the technological and societal trends that will shape our lives over the next decade and look at investment opportunities that may arise from these changes. Moderator Rory Cellan-Jones, Technology Correspondent, BBC Speakers Jo Bertram, Regional General Manager, Northern Europe, Uber Brent Hoberman, Executive Chairman and Co-Founder, Founders Factory Colin le Duc, Founding Partner and Co-Chief Investment Officer of Growth Equity, Generation Investment Management Rt Hon. Technology has become a key driving force in the financial world today, with financial institutions increasingly treading a fine line between competitive success and failure. 2019 Real Estate Investment Trends

04:06
In our next video blog, Tom Ott lists six trends to look out for while investing in turnkey real estate in 2019. Looking for 2019 real estate investment trends? Real estate has become a common investment vehicle, with plenty of opportunities for making a profit. But, buying and owning real estate can be challenging if you don’t know what you’re doing or if you try to go it alone. But that doesn’t mean it should be avoided. When approached correctly, real estate can be a lucrative and reliable way to generate substantial returns. Here are the top 6 real estate investment trends that you can expect in 2019. 2019 Real Estate Investment Trends 0:24 1. Decreased Growth Will Lead to a New Game of Numbers Tapered growth implies a more challenging setting, and investment analysts predict a lag on various fronts. The population is continuously growing, the labor force is losing conviction, and the productivity numbers in the economy are showing very little improvement. The average GDP growth is only projected at 1.9% in 2018-19, and the real estate activity will most likely reduce as well. This reduction means that identifying new opportunities such as building new office spaces, replacing ancient buildings, spotting growing markets and capitalizing on them will be more difficult. Be sure you work with the experts to identify the right opportunities. 0:57 2. Technology Will Act as a Backbone for the Real Estate Market Technology has always been after real estate, an industry that accounts for 13% of the GDP in the US. 2019 will witness the collaboration of tech companies and real estate firms. Tech startups will begin to capture the real estate market. You’ll be surprised to know that investment of tech firms in real estate closed at $5.2 billion by 2018 end. New online home selling platforms keep coming up, so try to modify the traditional home buying and selling ecosystem. 1:43 3. Artificial Intelligence Will Continue to Boom Do you think the much-hyped Artificial Intelligence will enter the real estate space? Well, some tech startups have integrated Artificial Intelligence into real estate, especially in emerging products such as building design, management, and organization. Many smart buildings such as The Edge and companies such as the shared office space giant WeWork are using Artificial Intelligence to analyze user behavior, redesign their workspaces, and do a lot more. Artificial Intelligence comes with several benefits for the real estate industry such as safety, security, and building efficiency. 2:07 4. The Focus on Sustainability Will Be Renewed Due to the increased attention toward climate change, the focus on sustainability in the construction and building space will be renewed. More and more realtors will switch to green practices and focus on the impact of their actions on the environment. 2:26 5. Builders Will Compete for World-Class Amenities In the competitive real estate space, builders and landlords are competing with each other to add world-class amenities to apartments to draw potential customers. Gym memberships and access to the rooftop don’t cut the deal anymore. These days, tenants look for modern kitchens, movie theatres, community gardens, pet parks, etc. These demands have resulted in the rise of convenience services such as doorstep laundry services, doorstep grocery delivery, and more. 3:02 6. Affordability Will Continue to Be a Challenge Research shows that the U.S. faces a massive housing crisis every year in small towns as well as large cities. 50% of the renters pay almost 30% of their income on rental accommodation. You’ll be stunned to know that approximately 12 million Americans spend over 50% of their earnings on their accommodation, and rising demand for homes and increasing mortgage rates have brought down the affordability for homes by close to 15%. Moreover, the country needs more homes to accommodate the people looking for rental homes. It is estimated that the U.S. will require over 4.6 million rental homes by 2030.

Insurance Industry Shake-Up

02:59
Technological innovation is disrupting the way consumers and small and midsized businesses purchase insurance, with a shift to a digital-first experience that’s shaking up the industry. Kelly Galanis from the Goldman Sachs Investment Banking Division explains key trends pushing the industry to adapt, including the use of telematics to provide behavior-based pricing and highly specialized, on-demand policies. “If I’m going skiing and I want to insure my skis on the slopes, I can turn on the insurance of the skis while I’m on the slopes and turn off the insurance after I’m done skiing,” Galanis explains. As emerging insurance technology companies find new ways to engage with customers and improve their overall experience, large-scale carriers are also investing, partnering, and in some cases pivoting to compete head to head.
