ZenithOptimedia, a media firm, predicted that online advertisement spending in 2012 will reach up to $82.7 billion and 17.1% of the total, as compared to 2008's $49.8 billion and 10.5% of global spending. Jared Jenks, analyst at eMarketer and the author of the report said, "It shows how resilient online advertising was through the recession". "I almost want to say it's too measurable. The possibility for measurement is so much more than any other media." North America and Western Europe dominated in the global online advertisement spending in 2009, taking up about 72.4% of the total share. This showed how much it was being spent on in these regions. However, their share is reported to drop by 2014 to 66.4%. On the other hand, Latin America, Asia pacific and Eastern Europe are reported to find increases in their digital marketing spending. Their share is said to increase from 27.3% to 32.1% over the same period. Since most firms and businesses are interested in digital marketing, it is only normal for your business to join in the race. I strongly, firmly, almost evangelically believe that your goal as a business owner or entrepreneur is to aim to be the best in your market. Now “best” can mean any number of different things including the fastest, nicest, cleanest, most polite, most beautiful, most fun, or whatever, but you should aim to dominate in at least one of these areas. 2) Market The next step in creating a digital marketing strategy is to clearly identify your target market and ideal customer or client.
