SPSS for questionnaire analysis: Correlation analysis

20:01
Basic introduction to correlation - how to interpret correlation coefficient, and how to chose the right type of correlation measure for your situation. 0:00 Introduction to bivariate correlation 2:20 Why does SPSS provide more than one measure for correlation? 3:26 Example 1: Pearson correlation 7:54 Example 2: Spearman (rhp), Kendall's tau-b 15:26 Example 3: correlation matrix I could make this video real quick and just show you Pearson's correlation coefficient, which is commonly taught in a introductory stats course. However, the Pearson's correlation IS NOT always applicable as it depends on whether your data satisfies certain conditions. So to do correlation analysis, it's better I bring together all the types of measures of correlation given in SPSS in one presentation. Watch correlation and regression: https://youtu.be/tDxeR6JT6nM ------------------------- Correlation of 2 rodinal variables, non monotonic This question has been asked a few times, so I will make a video on it. But to answer your question, monotonic means in one direction. I suggest you plot the 2 variables and you'll see whether or not there is a monotonic relationship there. If there is a little non-monotonic relationship then Spearman is still fine. Remember we are measuring the TENDENCY for the 2 variables to move up-up/down-down/up-down together. If you have strong non-monotonic shape in the plot ie. a curve then you could abandon correlation and do a chi-square test of association - this is the "correlation" for qualitative variables. And since your 2 variables are ordinal, they are qualitative. Good luck

Acrylic nail modeling instructions for acrylic nails | nded.com

15:54
http://www.nded.com - Nail design with acrylic technology for stunning acrylic nails with nded. They had until now always try artificial nails with UV gel and want it again with the acrylic technique. However, you want your artificial nails with acrylic technique not be modeled in an expensive nail design studio, but rather try it myself? This is not a problem. With our nail design training DVDs you can model your artificial nails with acrylic technology itself. In our nail design training DVD we show you everything you need for it and what you need to know. Disinfect your hands first before you start. Find the perfect artificial nails - from tips in such a way that your natural nail is covered completely (also on the sides). Dulling the nail plate of your natural nail with a nail buffer or a design file with 180 grit paper. Please remove any dust particles and disinfect the nail plate with a cotton pad and some alcohol. Glue a Nail design tip glue the appropriate tip on the natural nail. Then file the transition of nail design tip and natural nail so that no transition is visible. Please cut only on the nail tip design and not on the natural nail. Now use a preparer and a natural nail nail design primers. First apply to the natural nail preparer on the natural nail and wait a bit. Then please carry on nail design primers. Take a glass and fill dappen dash some nail design acrylic liquid into it. There are various nail designs liquids, best you take one for beginners so that the acrylic liquid mixture does not dry as fast and you have enough time for modeling. Take a nail design acrylic brush, dip it into the liquid and strip it down again on the edge of the glass, so not too much liquid on the brush is. Dip the brush into the nail design acrylic powder and take a small ball on. For the nail tip, take a white acrylic powder, put the ball on the nail tip and model them. Whenever you first pick up a new nail design powder residue from the brush on a cloth and wipe again immersed in the liquid. After you have modeled the white lace finished, take a pink-colored acrylic powder and make it a nail construction. The acrylic powder depending on the liquid dries in about 3 minutes. So you do not need a UV lamp. After the artificial fingernail is completely modeled with acrylic powder, file with a file with 100 grit all the bumps and your nail into shape. Thus, the artificial fingernail gets a nice shine, polish with a polishing block him to a high gloss. Finally, you still carry on some nail oil and massage it gently a. This nail design products you need for artificial nails with acrylics: A file 100/180 grit he or electric cutter Cotton pads Acrylic Liquid for beginners Powder white Acrylic powder pink Natural nail Preparer A primer Dappen dash Oil Polishing block There are many other training DVDs from nded. Innovation Ecosystems: Leveraging their Power for Organizational Success and Strategic Change

58:18
Innovation is a critical component to success in today’s ever-changing business landscape. It flourishes in an environment in which key stakeholders can connect, contribute, and share resources—in other words, when they are part of an innovation ecosystem. Fiona Murray and Phil Budden discuss: • The MITii definition of innovation and how that informs your approach to innovation • Why “the world isn’t flat” for innovation, and why it seems to thrive in certain ecosystems • Which are the five key stakeholders in the most successful innovation ecosystems • What this means for business leaders and especially for corporate innovation • How executives can leverage such ecosystems for innovation in their organization To find out more about innovation ecosystems, consider exploring these executive education courses taught by Murray and Budden: • Innovation Ecosystems: A New Approach to Accelerating Corporate Innovation and Entrepreneurship (two-day, in-person course) at https://executive.mit.edu/eco • Corporate Innovation: Strategies for Leveraging Ecosystems (self-paced online course) at https://executive.mit.edu/ci

If you had a billion dollars for energy-related R&D, where would you spend it?

37:36
A conversation on energy access, corporate social responsibility, and climate change solutions with Shell’s Harry Brekelmans.  Shareholders of publicly traded oil and gas companies expect a decent return on their investments. To meet those expectations in today’s global economy, these companies have to reduce costs and increase productivity without jeopardizing safety. But foresightful shareholders also realize that corporate profits have to be balanced with social value in a world undergoing profound changes in the way it produces and consumes energy. Can scientific research and technology development help an oil and gas company make energy accessible to a growing population, tackle climate change, and provide a competitive return to shareholders? If so, how? Includes an introduction by MIT Vice President for Research Maria Zuber and fireside chat with MIT Energy Initiative Director Robert Armstrong. This talk was presented on September 6, 2017. About the speaker: Harry Brekelmans is Projects & Technology (P&T) Director and a member of the Executive Committee of Royal Dutch Shell plc. As P&T Director, Harry oversees an organization that delivers Shell’s major oil and gas projects, provides support to operating assets, and drives technological and commercial innovation. P&T also provides functional leadership in areas such as engineering, contracts and procurement, and IT, as well as safety and environment. P&T works with some of the world’s leading engineering, procurement, and construction companies and integrated services contractors. It also collaborates with public and private research institutes, start-ups, incubators, and entrepreneurs on technology developments. Harry began his career at Shell after graduating from Delft Technical University with a degree in petroleum engineering. A stint in the R&D department of Shell’s Exploration & Production business in the Netherlands was followed by various roles in Egypt and the UK. From 2007 to 2009, he was CEO of Salym Petroleum Development, a Shell joint venture in Russia. In 2009, he became Executive Vice President (EVP) for Shell Group Strategy and Planning, before returning to Russia in 2011 as Country Chairman and EVP for Russia and the Caspian region. He moved back to his native city, The Hague, in 2013 to take up a new role as EVP for Upstream International Operated. Harry moved to his current role as P&T Director in 2014. Harry is a member of the executive committee of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development and a board member of the Global Leadership and Technology Exchange, which connects business, government, and civil society in seeking more efficient, low-carbon growth. ___ The MIT Energy Initiative is MIT’s hub for energy research, education, and outreach. Craig Lambert: "Shadow Work" | Talks at Google

58:00
Craig Lambert visited Google's office in Cambridge, MA to discuss his book "Shadow Work: The Unpaid, Unseen Jobs That Fill Your Day". In the book, he describes the glut of self-serve tasks—like pumping our own gas, scanning and bagging our groceries, booking our travel, deleting spam, tracking passwords, assembling Ikea furniture—that businesses, governmental agencies, schools, and other institutions now offload onto uncompensated consumers. Is the result “middle-class serfdom”, as he calls it, or something else? craiglambert.net

How friction modifiers work.

02:30
About a quarter of all gasoline burned is to overcome friction, caused mostly by the piston movement in the engine. Reducing this metal to metal friction helps engines run more efficiently. Quality gasoline, containing friction modifier additives, offer some real value. Gasoline with friction modifiers helps improve fuel economy, and when vehicles burn less fuel, they produce less emissions. What's more, friction modifiers can actually even improve fuel economy to levels above when the car was new. By reducing friction in the engine, vehicles run more economically -- like new, and in some cases, even better than new. © 2011 The Lubrizol Corporation. All rights reserved. What does BLOOM'S TAXONOMY mean? BLOOM'S TAXONOMY meaning - BLOOM'S TAXONOMY definition - BLOOM'S TAXONOMY explanation. Source: Wikipedia.org article, adapted under https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/ license. Bloom's taxonomy is a set of three hierarchical models used to classify educational learning objectives into levels of complexity and specificity. The three lists cover the learning objectives in cognitive, affective and sensory domains. The cognitive domain list has been the primary focus of most traditional education and is frequently used to structure curriculum learning objectives, assessments and activities. As with most theoretical models, they are controversial even while commonly used. The models were named after Benjamin Bloom, who chaired the committee of educators that devised the taxonomy. He also edited the first volume of the standard text, Taxonomy of Educational Objectives: The Classification of Educational Goals. Although named after Bloom, the publication of Taxonomy of Educational Objectives followed a series of conferences from 1949 to 1953, which were designed to improve communication between educators on the design of curricula and examinations. The first volume of the taxonomy, Handbook I: Cognitive was published in 1956, and in 1964 Handbook II: Affective. A revised version of the taxonomy for the cognitive domain was created in 2001. The cognitive domain involves exhibiting memory of learned materials by recalling facts, terms, basic concepts, and answers. Its characteristics include: Knowledge of specifics – terminology, specific facts; Knowledge of ways and means of dealing with specifics – conventions, trends and sequences, classifications and categories, criteria, methodology. Applying involves using acquired knowledge – solving problems in new situations by applying acquired knowledge, facts, techniques and rules. Example: Would apples prevent scurvy, a disease caused by a deficiency in vitamin C? Learners should be able to use information to solve problems, identify connections and relationships and how they apply. It is important for students to be able to use prior knowledge in new situations. For example, a student should be able to apply a method used in their own lives. Analyzing involves examining and breaking information into component parts, determining how the parts relate to one another, identifying motives or causes, and making inferences and find evidence to support generalizations. Its characteristics include: Analysis of elements; Analysis of relationships; Analysis of organizational principles; Example: List four ways of serving foods made with apples and explain which ones have the highest health benefits. Provide references to support your statements. Synthesizing involves building a structure or pattern from diverse elements; it also refers to the act of putting parts together to form a whole. Its characteristics include: Production of a unique communication; Production of a plan, or proposed set of operations: and Derivation of a set of abstract relations. Evaluating involves presenting and defending opinions by making judgments about information, validity of ideas, or quality of work based on a set of criteria. Its characteristics include: Judgments in terms of internal evidence; and Judgments in terms of external criteria.

Google filed a Patent for Needle-Free Blood Drawing Device.

01:26
Google has filed for a patent for a needle-free blood draw device that can be incorporated into a wearable, such as a smartwatch, and monitor blood glucose levels. Many Diabetes patients have to regularly monitor their blood glucose levels and administer insulin. They need to do do the test three times everyday. Currenlty this test requires the individuals to draw blood from themselves by piercing the skin with a small needle, put the blood on a strip, insert it into a machine, wait to see the glucose levels and then administer the required insulin, Google's proposed needle-free blood draw device will be useful for doing these things easily. The proposed system can be used either as a wearable on a person's wrist or as a hand-held device that takes blood from a fingertip or other parts of the body. The new Google design isn’t exactly needle-free. It’s basically a really slick finger-pricking gadget that works by blasting a gas-powered microparticle into the skin and then draws a small vial of blood into a pressurized container. Let us see whether Google is going to work on developing this new system or just filing the patent. Download the Patent pdf file at http://pdfaiw.uspto.gov/09/2015/25/034/1.pdf Around two years back, Google had announced a Smart Contact Lens for measuring Glucose levels of Diabetes Patients. Gottfried Leibniz | Wikipedia audio article

01:38:47
This is an audio version of the Wikipedia Article: Gottfried Leibniz Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago. Learning by listening is a great way to: - increases imagination and understanding - improves your listening skills - improves your own spoken accent - learn while on the move - reduce eye strain Now learn the vast amount of general knowledge available on Wikipedia through audio (audio article). You could even learn subconsciously by playing the audio while you are sleeping! If you are planning to listen a lot, you could try using a bone conduction headphone, or a standard speaker instead of an earphone. You can find other Wikipedia audio articles too at: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCuKfABj2eGyjH3ntPxp4YeQ You can upload your own Wikipedia articles through: https://github.com/nodef/wikipedia-tts "The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing." - Socrates SUMMARY ======= Gottfried Wilhelm (von) Leibniz (sometimes spelled Leibnitz) (; German: [ˈɡɔtfʁiːt ˈvɪlhɛlm fɔn ˈlaɪbnɪts] or [ˈlaɪpnɪts]; French: Godefroi Guillaume Leibnitz; 1 July 1646 [O.S. 21 June] – 14 November 1716) was a prominent German polymath and philosopher in the history of mathematics and the history of philosophy. His most notable accomplishment was conceiving the ideas of differential and integral calculus, independently of Isaac Newton's contemporaneous developments. Mathematical works have always favored Leibniz's notation as the conventional expression of calculus, while Newton's notation became unused. It was only in the 20th century that Leibniz's law of continuity and transcendental law of homogeneity found mathematical implementation (by means of non-standard analysis). He became one of the most prolific inventors in the field of mechanical calculators. While working on adding automatic multiplication and division to Pascal's calculator, he was the first to describe a pinwheel calculator in 1685 and invented the Leibniz wheel, used in the arithmometer, the first mass-produced mechanical calculator. He also refined the binary number system, which is the foundation of all digital computers. In philosophy, Leibniz is most noted for his optimism, i.e. his conclusion that our universe is, in a restricted sense, the best possible one that God could have created, an idea that was often lampooned by others such as Voltaire. Leibniz, along with René Descartes and Baruch Spinoza, was one of the three great 17th-century advocates of rationalism. The work of Leibniz anticipated modern logic and analytic philosophy, but his philosophy also looks back to the scholastic tradition, in which conclusions are produced by applying reason to first principles or prior definitions rather than to empirical evidence. Leibniz made major contributions to physics and technology, and anticipated notions that surfaced much later in philosophy, probability theory, biology, medicine, geology, psychology, linguistics, and computer science. He wrote works on philosophy, politics, law, ethics, theology, history, and philology. Leibniz also contributed to the field of library science. While serving as overseer of the Wolfenbüttel library in Germany, he devised a cataloging system that would serve as a guide for many of Europe's largest libraries. Leibniz's contributions to this vast array of subjects were scattered in various learned journals, in tens of thousands of letters, and in unpublished manuscripts. He wrote in several languages, but primarily in Latin, French, and German. There is no complete gathering of the writings of Leibniz translated into English.

One of the many chalanges of today society is maintaing our life style with minimum repercussion to the environment. today 's world of increasing population and due to the same had become a great problem. Also the need for alternative fuel are increase due to things that petroleum and diesel are going to vanish next 30 years or so long with increasing prices of feul. SO this CAV (compressed air vehicle) can become a part of environmental arsenal. Major advantage of this is that this vehicle is eco-friendly (pollution free at its tail pipe) This one is a air car model made by me with my group in BIS Collage of engg. and tecnology in MOGA for the final year project work............and msg to the automobile industries.

But connectivity as of 2015 has many aspects, such as how often, how fast, ease of connection, what devices are used to provide access, and whether content is available in multiple languages for multiple applications, which users really find useful. Meanwhile, companies are developing new applications to serve banking, healthcare and other growing sectors of the global digital economy. The digital online world is not a future but the reality that must drive awareness for all stakeholders that a broadened definition of access – connectivity, devices, capability, content and information – is a basic and fundamental requirement. This plenary session will describe how today’s 3 Billion users are connected and advance connectivity solutions and approaches for the next billion and beyond. Panelists share examples of current work and look to the future for what may be needed post 2015 to advance the engagement of suppliers of infrastructure, devices, and content and information, as the post WSIS +10 agenda drives changing roles of users, civil society, governments and the UN agencies. “Connecting the Next Billion” is also a key intercessional activity of the IGF2015, supported by a Working Group of the IGF-USA. The session references a recommendation for Connecting the Next Billion as a work in progress output statement from the Working Group and invites participants to join with the Working Group in further discussions.

It's a complicated issue, but when presented with the facts it is easy to see that the government needs to take another look at how it does contracting.
