Python for Data Analysis by Wes McKinney: Review | Learn python, numpy, pandas and jupyter notebooks

05:04
This is a review of the fantastic Python for Data Analysis. I learnt a lot from this book by Wes McKinney. Its section on IPython is excellent and it explains Numpy extremely well: two chapters are dedicated to Numpy covering the basics and advanced topics. It really helps you to visualize numpy arrays. The Pandas coverage is excellent and you learn what a powerful tool Pandas can be. I always use it for my data analysis, usually in a jupyter notebook and I love what it can do. If you are new to data analysis and are looking for an introductory book to explain how to do it in Python, I haven't seen a better one than this. Buy it from Amazon (USA) https://amzn.to/2I2TB1H (UK) https://amzn.to/2KFwmg9 (2nd Edition books) (affiliate links)

Coding With Python :: Learn API Basics to Grab Data with Python

19:23
Coding With Python :: Learn API Basics to Grab Data with Python This is a basic introduction to using APIs. APIs are the "glue" that keep a lot of web applications running and thriving. Without APIs much of the internet services you love might not even exist! APIs are easy way to connect with other websites & web services to use their data to make your site or application even better. This simple tutorial gives you the basics of how you can access this data and use it. If you want to know if a website has an api, just search "Facebook API" or "Twitter API" or "Foursquare API" on google. Some APIs are easy to use (like Locu's API which we use in this video) some are more complicated (Facebook's API is more complicated than Locu's). More about APIs: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Api Code from the video: http://pastebin.com/tFeFvbXp If you want to learn more about using APIs with Django, learn at http://CodingForEntrepreneurs.com for just $25/month. We apply what we learn here into a Django web application in the GeoLocator project. The Try Django Tutorial Series is designed to help you get used to using Django in building a basic landing page (also known as splash page or MVP landing page) so you can collect data from potential users. Collecting this data will prove as verification (or validation) that your project is worth building. Furthermore, we also show you how to implement a Paypal Button so you can also accept payments. Django is awesome and very simple to get started. Step-by-step tutorials are to help you understand the workflow, get you started doing something real, then it is our goal to have you asking questions... "Why did I do X?" or "How would I do Y?" These are questions you wouldn't know to ask otherwise. Questions, after all, lead to answers. Getting Started with AWS Glue ETL

06:24
AWS Glue is a fully managed extract, transform, and load (ETL) service that makes it easy for customers to prepare and load their data for analytics. Learn more at http://amzn.to/2G8J5IG. You can create and run an ETL job with a few clicks in the AWS Management Console. You simply point AWS Glue to your data stored on AWS, and AWS Glue discovers your data and stores the associated metadata (e.g. table definition and schema) in the AWS Glue Data Catalog. Once cataloged, your data is immediately searchable, queryable, and available for ETL. AWS Glue generates the code to execute your ETL data transformations and data loading processes. The code is customizable, reusable, and portable. Once your ETL job is ready, you can schedule it to run on AWS Glue's fully managed, scale-out Apache Spark environment. AWS Glue provides a flexible scheduler with dependency resolution, job monitoring, and alerting.

AI for Marketing & Growth #1 - Predictive Analytics in Marketing

03:17
AI for Marketing & Growth #1 - Predictive Analytics in Marketing Download our list of the world's best AI Newsletters 👉https://hubs.ly/H0dL7N60 Welcome to our brand new AI for Marketing & Growth series in which we’ll get you up to speed on Predictive Analytics in Marketing! This series you-must-watch-this-every-two-weeks sort of series or you’re gonna get left behind.. Predictive analytics in marketing is a form of data mining that uses machine learning and statistical modeling to predict the future. Based on historical data. Applications in action are all around us already. For example, If your bank notifies you of suspicious activity on your bank card, it is likely that a statistical model was used to predict your future behavior based on your past transactions. Serious deviations from this pattern are flagged as suspicious. And that’s when you get the notification. So why should marketers care? Marketers can use it to help optimise conversions for their funnels by forecasting the best way to move leads down the different stages, turning them into qualified prospects and eventually converting them into paying customers. Now, if you can predict your customers’ behavior along the funnel, you can also think of messages to best influence that behavior and reach your customer’s highest potential value. This is super-intelligence for marketers! Imagine if you could not only determine whether a lead is a good fit for your product but also which are most promising. This’ll allow you to focus your team’s efforts on leads with the highest ROI. Which will also imply a shift in mindset. Going from quantity metrics, or how many leads you can attract, to quality metrics, or how many good leads you can engage. You can now easily predict your OMTM or KPIs in real-time and finally push vanity metrics aside. For example, based on my location, age, past purchases, and gender, how likely are you to buy eggs I if you just added milk to your basket? A supermarket can use this information to automatically recommend products to you A financial services provider can use thousands of data points created by your online behaviour to decide which credit card to offer you, and when. A fashion retailer can use your data to decide which shoes to recommend as your next purchase, based on the jacket you just bought. Sure, businesses can improve their conversion rates, but the implications are much bigger than that. Predictive analytics allows companies to set pricing strategies based on consumer expectations and competitor benchmarks. Retailers can predict demand, and therefore make sure they have the right level of stock for each of their products. The evidence of this revolution is already around us. Every time we type a search query into Google, Facebook or Amazon we’re feeding data into the machine. The machine thrives on data, growing ever more intelligent. To leverage the potential of artificial intelligence and predictive analytics, there are four elements that organizations need to put into place. 1. The right questions 2. The right data 3. The right technology 4. The right people Ok.. let’s look at some use cases of businesses that are already leveraging predictive analytics. Other topics discussed: Ai analytics case study artificial intelligence big data deep learning demand forecasting forecasting sales machine learning predictive analytics in marketing data mining statistical modelling predict the future historical data AI Marketing machine learning marketing machine learning in marketing artificial intelligence in marketing artificial intelligence AI Machine learning ------------------------------------------------------- Amsterdam bound? How You Can Train for America's Hottest Job: Data Scientist

03:52
NYC Boot Camp Trains You for America's Hottest Job: Data Scientist Data scientist is the hottest job in America for the second year in a row. So what does a data scientist do and how can you become one? I visited the NYC Data Science Academy in Midtown Manhattan to find out. For starters, data scientists speak a language I can't understand, several of them, actually. But this is the hottest job right now, with 4,600 openings in New York alone and over 37,000 nationwide. The students at the NYC Data Science Academy come from a wide range of backgrounds. Grant Webb was a nuclear physicist at Brookhaven National Lab. Rachel Kogan graduated from Princeton University with a degree in math and traded mortgage-backed securities at Morgan Stanley. Brandy Freitas worked at a nonprofit called Science Club for Girls. Scott Dobbins taught debating to high school students in China. Academy founder Vivian Zhang says the academy teaches students skills needed to hit the ground running on Day 1. That includes the most popular machine learning language and data analytic language, R and Python. The academy also covers Hadoop, Spark, Squel, GitHub, and Linux. All of this happens in a 12-week boot camp that costs $16,000. Chris Neimeth, Vivian's partner at the academy, explained what all of that means. Python, R, Hadoop, and Spark are all open-source languages that people can use to deploy sophisticated solutions for businesses. This year, data scientist topped Glassdoor's list of the best jobs in America for the second year in a row based on its number of openings, job satisfaction, and impressive median base salary of $110,000. Students at the academy often see a salary bump right away. Vivian says she has seen a lot of good outcomes. One student started earning $85,000 just three months after graduating from boot camp. Data scientists analyze information at the big tech companies such as Amazon and Google, banks such as Goldman Sachs, retailers such as Walmart, the magazine business at Condé Nast, and in sports at the NBA. All of those places have job listings in the $100,000 range right now. Chris says that the finance, media, healthcare, and technology industries in New York are very interested in using data and data science to create a competitive advantage for themselves. The academy takes about three dozen students in each boot camp. So what does it take to be a candidate for the boot camp program? Chris says people should be comfortable with math and able to code. Vivian says 80 percent of the students are STEM majors, but the academy also accepts people with non-traditional STEM backgrounds and helps them to achieve their goals. One student was a bartender who was into data and was passionate about learning. Vivian and Chris say he graduated from boot camp and is now a successful data analyst. --ALISON MORRIS http://nycdatascience.com/

What is machine learning and how to learn it ?

12:09
http://www.LearnCodeOnline.in Machine learning is just to give trained data to a program and get better result for complex problems. It is very close to data mining. While many machine learning algorithms have been around for a long time, the ability to automatically apply complex mathematical calculations to big data – over and over, faster and faster – is a recent development. Here are a few widely publicized examples of machine learning applications you may be familiar with: The heavily hyped, self-driving Google car? The essence of machine learning. Online recommendation offers such as those from Amazon and Netflix? Machine learning applications for everyday life. Knowing what customers are saying about you on Twitter? Machine learning combined with linguistic rule creation. Fraud detection? One of the more obvious, important uses in our world today. fb: https://www.facebook.com/HiteshChoudharyPage homepage: http://www.hiteshChoudhary.com

How To Scrape Data From Any Website In Seconds With Power BI

11:20
In this video we will cover web scraping. Specifically, web scraping in Power BI. The examples I will be using are Amazon and Home Depot. This is a complete walk through tutorial on web scraping with Power BI. This video had a bad humming noise in it due to a malfunctioning microphone and similar. Here is a newer video without the humming: https://youtu.be/_8unGmDXfAk What we will cover: 1. Using search on the Amazon website 2. Getting the URL for the search. 3. Making sure Power BI can access the root domain of the website (www.amazon.com) 4. Accessing the search URL through a Web connection. 5. Using the Add Tables By Using Examples button. 6. Explanation of what you need to do if you do not see this button (upgrade to newer version of Power BI else you will not be able to do any web scraping). 7. Selecting the title, author, price and other columns you want. 8. Getting the data into a table that you can immediately do analysis and reporting on. Thank you for watching this video on Microsoft Power BI and web scraping. Please take a moment to subscribe, like and comment. Thanks again and God bless!
