Is the Nvidia GTX 460 still a good graphics card? | 2016 Performance and Review

05:15
The GTX 460 was considered by many as a great mid-range graphics card when it was release back in 2010. It cost $200, and could run most games on their highest settings. (Except Crysis of course.) Today, the GTX 460 can be bought for very little, with the version we bought costing just £25 ($32). So let's see if it has what it takes to play a few of today's games! Test System: Intel Pentium G3258 overclocked to 4.5GHz 8GB DDR3 Ram MSI-H81M-P33 Motherboard 500W PSU Gigabyte GTX 460 1GB GDDR5 Windows 10 Games Tested: The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt Grand Theft Auto V Fallout 4 CS:GO All games, except The Witcher ran at 1080p, but we had to turn the resolution all the way down to 720p for that to even hit 30 FPS. Thanks for watching :)

Video Review: Point Of View GeForce GTX 460 Beast 1GB Graphics Card

08:11
The GeForce GTX 460 Beast 1GB graphics card is one of the best selling cards from Nvidia, with all of the latest features that we know and love from Nvidia and the most recent graphics technology on the market. This includes the ability for SLI configuration and full DirectX 11 support. It also has 3D Vision Surround, PhysX technology and CUDA support. The cooler is made from plastic and features a large fan with Point Of View graphics on top. It clearly tells us that it's the TGT Beast edition and underneath it features a solid heatsink and copper heatpipes. The GTX 460 needs 2 x 6-pin pci-express power adapters but no adapters come included with the package. Benchmark wise, it rivals the Radeon 6870 and with a price point to match, it makes it a very competitive option, which you can see how it fairs within the benchmarks on the video. Overall, if I was on the market for a new card and had the money to buy a card with this performance, i would be looking at the Point Of View GeForce GTX 460 Beast 1GB graphics card. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ►SUBSCRIBE FOR MORE GREAT VIDEO CONTENT!◄ https://www.youtube.com/user/eteknix?sub_confirmation=1 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ►VISIT OUR WEBSITE AND SOCIAL MEDIA!◄ https://www.eteknix.com https://forums.eteknix.com https://www.facebook.com/eteknix https://www.twitter.com/eteknix ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ►UK SHOPPING LINKS◄ Amazon.co.uk Shopping Link - http://amzn.to/2yBLok0 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ►US SHOPPING LINKS◄ Amazon.com Shopping Link - http://amzn.to/2g4UcHH ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ►OUR KIT◄ https://kit.com/eTeknix

The GTX 460 uses a slimmer, but arguably improved GF104 core which reduces certain aspects of the cards, but also provides improves to still keep it a competitive gaming unit while getting rid of the heat and power consumption problems that plague the higher end cards. With two models, both a 768MB and 1GB version starting at just $199, NVIDIA looks to take a firm grasp on the popular mid range gaming card market with the GTX 460

Nvidia Demo: Supersonic Sled (GeForce GTX 460 and above) 1080p HD

01:39
Strap yourself in and get ready to experience the future of gaming realism and interactivity that only the GeForce GTX 400 Series of GPUs can provide. Taking advantage of PhysX, CUDA, DirectX 11, and 3D Vision, Supersonic Sled straps you on a high powered test rocket and hurtles you down a six mile long track in the Nevada desert at speeds in excess of 800 miles an hour. You'll have to avoid falling rocks, destroy buildings and bridges, and avoid flying off the side of a massive cliff. Every moving object in the demo is physically simulated using PhysX and CUDA. From the falling rock debris you have to traverse, to the dynamic smoke that swirls around the launch pad when you take off, to the thousands of individual pieces the house and bridge you'll fly by break into -- every interaction between moving objects in Supersonic Sled is simulated on the GeForce GTX 400 Series GPU -- helping create one of the most physically realistic and accurately portrayed real-time technology demos ever built. Be sure to turn on Visualize Physics mode to see all the PhysX forces in the demo. And if you really want to have some fun, try breaking the sled apart by throwing chickens at it -- or placing crates on the track in front of the sled before it takes off. The best part is that no one run will be exactly the same. Every time you blast down the track in your rocket powered sled, you'll have a truly unique and dynamic experience. When you complete a successful Supersonic Sled run, make sure you upload your name and score to the Supersonic Sled Top Scores database. Technical Notes: • Now supports 3D Vision Surround technology, with the latest version of Supersonic Sled released in July 2010. • Rendered using DirectX 11. • Supports 3D Vision. • Dynamic tessellation is used to define a vast but interesting landscape for the test. • PhysX is used to create a truly dynamic experience. The sled, the driver, and the world itself are described physically with rigid body interactions, and simulated particles. • CUDA-accelerated fluid dynamics model the behavior of the Rocket exhaust smoke is modeled. Watch as the smoke interacts with the environment - swirling around the launch pad, rolling around and over the blast doors. • Smoke, fire, steam, dust, and other phenomenon are described using tens of thousands of CUDA-accelerated particles. • Full scene motion blur provides a sense of speed whether the camera is attached to the sled watching the terrain whip by or on solid ground as the sled speeds past. Launched with GeForce GTX 480 and above Demo released on the 3rd of July 2010 (3 years ago) Features: CUDA PhysX 3D Vision DirectX 11 Recorded with FRAPS. This demo ran on my GeForce GTX 660. Nvidia Demo: Alien vs. Triangles (GeForce GTX 460 and above) 1080p HD

01:19
Tired of game characters that remain unchanged as they take damage and fall over dead looking as good as when they arrived? For your viewing pleasure we introduce the battle of ALIEN VS TRIANGLES where tessellation is used to transform and destroy an enemy using "multi-dimensional tessellation." Alien vs. Triangles is a study in using tessellation on a dynamic animating character. Tessellation is most commonly used to add geometric complexity in a detailed area of a surface. Our Alien demonstrates this, but goes far beyond just adding detail to a static surface. Several displacement maps are associated with the surface of the Alien which completely change his look on command, and allow for realistic surface damage as you blast him with a laser. The Alien has three "skins" -- Normal, Spike and Fungus. Each of these is a separate displacement map, with associated textures and shaders. Once "infecting" the Alien with a different skin type, you can watch as the new displacement grows across his skin transforming him into a very different looking character. The Alien also has four displacement maps that are used as damage layers. These layers are at different levels above and below his skin, and are exposed as he his shot by a laser. These levels include a blister layer that's above his skin, and three levels of muscle and guts layers at successively deeper levels beneath the skin. Once shot, these layers are procedurally exposed and interpolated to create a nasty gaping open wound. We are calling this "multi-dimensional tessellation" because we can vary seamlessly between the tessellation and displacement of 3 character skins and 4 damage layers resulting in a character that feels "solid" or "volumetric." This is a great example of how the tessellation horsepower of GeForce GTX 500 GPUs not only allow for surface detail in things like mountainous terrain, but add realism and interest to the skinned surface of animated characters. Launched with GeForce GTX 460 and above Demo released on the 9th of November 2010 (2 years ago) Features: 3D Vision SLI DirectX 11 Recorded with FRAPS. This demo ran on my GeForce GTX 660. The first Xbox One exclusive to ever land on PC to date. Next is Ryse: Son of Rome. Great and crazy game; horrible and unoptimized port. Although my system is below the minimum system requirements, this game ran alright. At times the framerate drops, tearing, and stutters happen but overall it's still enjoyable. Had to compromise some visual settings. Some high-end systems struggled with the game in performance. Not a good port, and the graphics are in the OK level. Even the Xbox One had better but over-saturated (for certain tastes) color grading although I think the PC version looks more natural and can look sharper than the console counterpart. To unlock 30FPS cap 1. Locate where deadrising3.exe is 2. Create a text file and save as user.ini (make sure file extensions are not hidden. Google for it if you're not sure) 3. Place "gmpcr_unlock_frame_rate = True" in the user.ini (without quotation marks) 4. Save 5. GeForce GTX 460 WATERCOOLED, OVERCLOCKED and BENCHMARKED in 2018

06:36
In this video I benchmark and review an old MSI Nvidia GTX 460 pushing it to the limit, overclocking it on both air and with a waterblock! This is an older card originally released in 2010. The 400 series was Nvidias first line of GeForce cards to support Direct X 11. The GTX 460 was an mid tear enthusiast model, just below the 470 and 480 cards. Based on the Fermi architecture the 400 range was a big step over the previous 200 series. Rival AMD had already released its DX11 cards as the 5000 series, which meant that the GTX 460 had to do battle with cards like the HD 5850. So how does the GTX 460 fair in 2018? - Well I wanted to find out, and I wanted to give the card the best chance possible by overclocking and watercooling it. So how will it do? Although there may be better games to buy at its price point, at least the price isn't high at all. Overall, it's a good game despite its flaws. NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 vs. 760 vs. 960 vs. 1060 Graphics Card Comparison GTA 5 Witcher

05:34
GameStar PCs | Gaming PCs & Notebooks: http://www.one.de We compare the graphics cards of the NVIDIA GeForce GTX x60 series starting from GTX 660 with GTX 760, GTX 960 and GTX 1060. We offer two parts in this video: The first part compares the performance of those cards while using the exact same graphics preset for each game and card – even when the specific preset exceeds the VRAM limit of the card. We use three games as benchmarks: GTA 5, Rainbow Six: Siege and Witcher 3. We took great care that each benchmark sequence offers a nice average of what can be expected of each game. For example the GTA 5 benchmark sequence offers a mixture of city and countyside landscape. Each sequence is actually played three times, the fps values in the diagarms are the avarage of those runs. The second part aims to show the visual advantage or disadvantage of those cards. For each game we optimized the graphics to match at least stable 60 fps (with a small tolerance for rare drops to 55 or so). The more powerful the card, the higher the possible visuals without dropping below 60fps. Those individual graphics settings are compared with each other. At the end of the video we provide an overview of the tech specs of each card. In this video we did use NVIDIA reference cards as well as custom designs. For the GTX 660 and 960 we used EVGA custom designs, the values differ from the reference cards. You can see them at the end of the video. Apply for Fullscreen today! http://apply.fullscreen.net/?ref=benjaminzer Recorded with Dxtory with x264 and Lame MP3 codecs Watch Dogs may failed to live up to its hype it once had, but overall it's a good game. It's a shame the graphics are downgraded comparing to the E3 2012/13 builds, but it's not a horrible looking game either. Only thing is, it is not very optimized. Even high-end machines struggled to maintain stable framerates at maximum settings. FPS Count: Min : 25 Avg: 30-45 Max: 60 Resolution: 1920x1080 Settings: http://oi58.tinypic.com/zlzyax.jpg For the settings, I used Watch Dogs Config Tool by bilago. This tool reveals more graphical options, making tweaking more flexible. So you can either set it to the ultra performance (lowest), ultra quality (maxed out), or in between. For me, I bumped the render quality, LOD, geometry and vegetation to the lowest while I bumped the ambient occlusion, DOF, and also hidden options like HDR. The HDR may make a game a tad too dark especially at night time, but it basically saturates the color to give a lively feel to the visuals. I tried to maximize as much as possible while maintaining performance. Unfortunately, I can't bump up the textures. When set texture to High, the game will stutter especially at the driving parts. Let alone it is said that 2GB of VRAM is required for such texture quality. Ultra would require 3GB, which is insane. Medium textures are so fugly, but that can't be helped, so meh. Here below is the download link https://mega.co.nz/#!o0U2EDxY!MQCjGQfJBbCirDBqhug_-vzDCGt6Uql2tB_3eXqMU8I Feel free to play around with the settings according to your taste. Game doesn't run 100% butter smooth. Minor framerate drops happens occasionally, but in overall it is not very disruptive and therefore, fully playable. Keep in mind that as of the day I've tested, the game is known to be unoptimized. Not sure if an upcoming patch or so will improve this issue. GTX 460 is doing alright with next gen titles like this so far. A big shoutout + kudos to bilago for the Watch Dogs Config Tool. Nvidia Third Party Demo: Stone Giant (GeForce GTX 460 and above) 1080p HD

01:13
One of the most captivating DirectX 11 demos, Stone Giant shows how tessellation can be used to create scenes and characters of almost unlimited detail. Stone Giant is based on a new graphics engine developed by BitSquid, a startup founded from the veteran developers at Grin. The engine is multiplatform by design, but on the PC, the developers focused on DirectX 11 to take advantage of key features like tessellation and DirectCompute. "With DX11 hardware becoming more readily available, we decided now would be a good time to highlight the advanced features of our engine, including DX11 and tessellation support," said Tobias Persson, Lead Engineer at BitSquid. "Tessellation adds an awful lot to the visual fidelity of the scene and is something that consumers can readily see for themselves. We are looking forward to seeing how games will take advantage of our engine." Detailed stone surfaces are typically challenging to reproduce in realtime. High-resolution textures and normal maps can create the illusion of detail when the scene is viewed front on, but as the camera rotates, the illusion is lost. With tessellation, real geometry is added, producing accurate surface details with physically correct lighting, and shadows at every angle. A great illustration of how tessellation transforms geometry can be observed on the stone giant's arm. Without tessellation, the staircase that runs along the arm is flat. With tessellation, not only is each stair fully delineated, but as the camera zooms in, tiny cracks and crevices becomes visible. Such details would be impossible to reproduce using traditional bump mapping techniques. Stone Giant has native support for NVIDIA 3D Vision. When viewed in 3D, the detailed geometry from tessellation is enhanced with true depth perception, creating an experience so real, you could almost touch it. Launched with GeForce GTX 460 and above Demo released on the 5th of August 2010 (3 years ago) Developer: BitSquid Features: 3D Vision SLI DirectX 11 Recorded with FRAPS. GTX 770 vs 1050 Ti - Which is the better value card and should you buy one?

GTX 770 in 2017, Is it better value than a GTX 1050 Ti? The GTX 770 was a great choice a few years back when it hit the market but its now a few generations old. With prices of nVidias new GTX 1050 Ti skyrocketing due to demand and low availability, should you be looking backwards to bring your Rig forwards? Both cards are benchmarked today thanks to a good friend who has kindly loaned me his card while he is away. The MSI GTX 770 2Gb was bought by myself a couple of weeks back online for £80 The GTX 1050 Ti 4Gb cost £165. Is the extra cost justified and who should buy what? Lets find out! Ryse: Son of Rome may be too demanding for the GTX 460 to handle at maximum settings, but even with graphical settings being compromised, the visuals are still worth the performance hit. This is one these games where visuals alone are its lasting appeal. The game's visual quality really looks like a CGI cutscene, and that's what makes this game make a name for itself although it is catered along with an unsatisfying gameplay. FPS Count Min: 20 Avg: 25-30 Max: 35 Despite the lower than standard framerates, game somewhat feels fluid still. Resolution: 1920x1080 Settings: Rendering Resolution: 1536x864 (80%) Window Resolution: 1920x1080 (means game is upscaled to 1080p) Supersampling: Off Texture Resolution: Low Native Upscaling: Enabled Fullscreen: On Vsync: Off Lock FPS: Disabled Shading Quality: High Object Detail: High Shadows Quality: Normal Particle Quality: High Animation Quality: High Motion Blur: Enabled Temporal Anti-aliasing: Disabled Anisotropic Filtering: 8x These settings are configured to balance between visual fidelity and playability. You may lower the settings down in favor of the latter. Not looking as good as the PS4/Xbox One version, but the PC version sure looks pretty pleasant although dated. Anyways, it's not that different. Still a great game to play. Played in Semi-Pro difficulty FPS Count: 60fps (cutscenes looked 30fps-ish, but FPS counter will say 60 anyways. Typical console port) Resolution: 1920x1080 Settings: ALL MAXED OUT V-Sync Enabled; FPS locked to 60fps in favor of stability and prevention of tearing. Video Review: Inno3D GeForce GTX 460 OC 1GB Graphics Card

04:58
Visit https://www.eteknix.com/inno3d-geforce-gtx-460-oc-1gb-graphics-card-review/ for our in-depth review. Today we're looking at the GeForce GTX 460 OC 1GB graphics card from Inno3D. Inno3D are a manufacturer that not many people have heard of but that's not to say that they aren't any good. When it comes to graphics cards and the manufacturing process, a lot is down to the creator of the GPU whilst the partner finalises everything to launch in the retail market. Also as products develop and the recession kicks in, more and more companies are trying to get on board and make some money. That's why over the years we see many manufacturers come and go. Inno3D however have remained in the marketplace, not just on a local level but also globally. Whilst they are mainly based in Hong Kong that doesn't mean that the service is anything other than spectacular, offering the latest graphics card products to the market along with the big boys such as Asus and MSI. Inno3D have also delved into the motherboard market offering AMD, Intel and Atom solutions, but their main focus has always been on graphics cards. Their interests include a subsidiary part of the company called i-Chill which offers the same top-quality products with high performance and custom cooling design solutions for the user who wants that little bit more from the components that they buy. Manufacturer's sometimes make "turbo edition" cards or factory overclocked versions to give more performance and from time to time, Inno3D also make pre-overclocked versions of their already top selling products including the GTX 460 OC that we're looking at today. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ►SUBSCRIBE FOR MORE GREAT VIDEO CONTENT!◄ https://www.youtube.com/user/eteknix?sub_confirmation=1 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ►VISIT OUR WEBSITE AND SOCIAL MEDIA!◄ https://www.eteknix.com https://forums.eteknix.com https://www.facebook.com/eteknix https://www.twitter.com/eteknix ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ►UK SHOPPING LINKS◄ Amazon.co.uk Shopping Link - http://amzn.to/2yBLok0 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ►US SHOPPING LINKS◄ Amazon.com Shopping Link - http://amzn.to/2g4UcHH ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ►OUR KIT◄ https://kit.com/eTeknix
