How to Set Environment Variables in Linux
Follow this tutorial to learn how to set shell environment variables in a Linux operating system like Ubuntu. Don't forget to check out our site http://howtech.tv/ for more free how-to videos! http://youtube.com/ithowtovids - our feed http://www.facebook.com/howtechtv - join us on facebook https://plus.google.com/103440382717658277879 - our group in Google+ In this tutorial, you will learn how to set environment variables in linux. Linux based operating systems use bash shell. The shell environment variables are used for several purposes, from storing data, storing software configurations, set terminal settings, and changing shell environment. The environment variables are normally created by the operating system during installation, or by different software as per the required need. Apart from that, in linux, to set environment variables, we first need to access the terminal application. That's because the user has the privilege to add, edit, and remove different variables at will. Step # 1 -- All variables on terminal In linux, to set environment variables we first need to access shell environment variables. For that, we will need to open the terminal by searching for it in the applications menu, or selecting it from the dock on the left. Once the terminal is opened up, to check for all environment variables, type the set command and press enter. This will list all the environment variables stored in the shell. Step # 2 -- One variable at a time The amount of these variables can become a very long list and locating one specific variable can become a tough task. Fortunately Linux allows us to display the value of one shell variable by using the echo command along with the name of the variable. This makes the task very easy. Step # 3 -- Changing a variable Now, to add or modify an environment variable, we can use the export command followed by the name of the variable and the values that go with it. Multiple values for a variable need to be separated by a colon. The colon indicates to the operating system that one value has ended and another has begun. The variables can be created and removed from the shell easily, and can be done whenever required. But changing important variables may mess with the operating system's functionalities so it's important to be careful. And that's basically all you need to know for how to set environment variables in Linux.

CppCon 2018: Arthur O'Dwyer “An Allocator is a Handle to a Heap”
http://CppCon.org — Presentation Slides, PDFs, Source Code and other presenter materials are available at: https://github.com/CppCon/CppCon2018 — C++17 introduced the std::pmr framework. In this framework, a std::pmr::polymorphic_allocator<T> holds a pointer to a std::pmr::memory_resource. The memory resource is in charge of managing and organizing the heap itself, and the allocator object is just a thin "handle" pointing to the memory resource. This is not just a convenient implementation strategy for std::pmr! Rather, this elucidates the true meaning of the Allocator concept which has existed, unchanged, since C++98. An Allocator *is* a (value-semantic) handle to an (object-semantic) MemoryResource. Even std::allocator can — and should — be viewed as a handle to a global singleton "heap", and not as a heap itself. From this core insight we derive many corollaries, such as the need for allocator types to be lightweight and efficiently copyable, the fundamental impossibility of implementing an "in-place" std::vector via stupid allocator tricks, and the philosophical underpinnings of "rebinding." Time permitting, we'll - discuss what we can expect from a "moved-from" allocator object - relate the notion of "handle" to neighboring notions such as "façade" and "adaptor" - suggest similarities between "allocator/heap" and "executor/execution-context" — Arthur O'Dwyer Arthur O'Dwyer started his career writing pre-C++11 compilers for Green Hills Software; he currently writes C++14 for Akamai Technologies. Arthur is the author of "Colossal Cave: The Board Game," "Mastering the C++17 STL" (the book), and "The STL From Scratch" (the training course). He is occasionally active on the C++ Standards Committee and has a blog mostly about C++. — Videos Filmed & Edited by Bash Films: http://www.BashFilms.com

Omnichannel Services - Conditional GETs
Today I'm going to talk about how you can create an omnichannel service that support a cool part of the HTTP standard called Conditional GETs. This feature is especially important for mobile solutions as it will save bandwidth and improve performance on both the client and server. In this example, I will use PHP and build on the service I created in a previous video (http://youtu.be/P9PaOq587g0), but the same functionality can be achieved on all major platforms, like any Java variation and .NET. Let's start with some theory. The basic idea is that the first call to the server is made as usual, and the response from the service include the requested data and a normal "OK" (200) HTTP response code. It also includes two specific headers, one with a date indicating when the resource was last changed, and the other with a unique identifier for the current version of the resource, called etag (entity tag). In the next request, the client will supply these two values, and this time the response depends on whether the resource has changed or not. If the resource was changed, the response format will be the same as the first response (with new data), but if the resource was not changed, only the "Not Modified" (304) HTTP response code is returned. This very quick response (only the HTTP headers are transferred in either direction) tells the client that the previously retrieved data is still valid, and can be shown to the user. Now it's time to create a service that implement this (see the code on http://cforsberg.com/?p=106) and just as in the original code (from the previous video), we start by getting the XML (line 2-3). Then we set the default time zone to GMT (line 4) and get the date when the feed was last changed from the XML (line 5). We create an etag by making an MD5 hash from that date (line 6) and set the two headers (line 7-8). Then we get the two headers (if they are present) from the request (line 9-10), and check whether the version that the client has is old or still valid (line 11). If it's still valid, we simply return the 304 status (line 13) and if not, se parse the XML as in the original code. To put this code on your server (using https://panic.com/coda), I just create a new file named getConditional.php, paste the code we just walked through, save it, and then it can be called with (replace with the IP of your server): So on the first request, we get a normal 200 response, and you can see the headers if you open the developer tools (I'm using Chrome, but this is possible in most browsers). When I make another request, you can see that I get a 304 response, and can inspect those headers. No matter how many times I make the request, I will continue to get 304 until the date in the back-end XML is changed. The nice thing when building apps is that most reusable libraries, like AFNetworking, has built-in support for conditional GETs, so there's actually minimal coding required to make use of this in an app. There you have an omnichannel service that support conditional GETs and that can be easily consumed by your apps or webs. LTE Attach Call Flow in Complete Basic form
Step 1. The UE initiates the attach procedure by transmitting an attach request to the eNodeB. Step 2. The eNodeB derives the MME from the RRC parameters carrying the old GUMMEI and the indicated Selected Network. Step 3. If the UE identifies itself with GUTI and the MME has changed since detach, the new MME uses the GUTI received from the UE to derive the old MME/SGSN address, and send an Identification Request to the old MME/SGSN to request the IMSI. Step 4. If the UE is unknown in both the old MME/SGSN and new MME, the new MME sends an Identity Request to the UE to request the IMSI. The UE responds with Identity Response (IMSI). Step 5a. If no UE context for the UE exists anywhere in the network, if the Attach Request (sent in step 1) was not integrity protected, or if the check of the integrity failed, then authentication and NAS security setup to activate integrity protection and NAS ciphering are mandatory. Step 5b. The ME Identity shall be retrieved from the UE. Step 6. If the UE has set the Ciphered Options Transfer Flag in the Attach Request message, the Ciphered Options i.e. PCO or APN or both, shall now be retrieved from the UE. Step 7. If there are active bearer contexts in the new MME for this particular UE (i.e. the UE re-attaches to the same MME without having properly detached before), the new MME deletes these bearer contexts by sending Delete Session Request (LBI) messages to the GWs involved. Step 8. If the MME has changed since the last detach, or if there is no valid subscription context for the UE in the MME, the MME sends an Update Location Request message to the HSS. Step 9. The HSS sends Cancel Location (IMSI, Cancellation Type) to the old MME. Step 10. If there are active bearer contexts in the old MME/SGSN for this particular UE, the old MME/SGSN deletes these bearer contexts by sending Delete Session Request (LBI) messages to the GWs involved. Step 11. The HSS acknowledges the Update Location message by sending an Update Location Ack message to the new MME. Step 12. For an Emergency Attach situation, the MME applies the parameters from MME Emergency Configuration Data for the emergency bearer establishment performed in this step and any potentially stored IMSI related subscription data are ignored by the MME. Step 13. The Serving GW creates a new entry in its EPS Bearer table and sends a Create Session Request message to the PDN GW indicated by the PDN GW address received in the previous step. Step 14. If dynamic PCC is deployed and the Handover Indication is not present, the PDN GW performs an IP-CAN Session Establishment procedure. Step 15. The PGW creates a new entry in its EPS bearer context table and generates a Charging Id. Step 16. If the MS Info Change Reporting Action (Start) or the CSG Information Reporting Action (Start) are received for this bearer context, then the SGW stores this for the bearer context and the SGW reports to that PGW whenever a UE’s location and/or User CSG information change occurs that meets the PGW request. Step 17. If an APN Restriction is received, then the MME shall store this value for the Bearer Context and the MME shall check this received value with the stored value for the Maximum APN Restriction to ensure there are no conflicts between values. Step 18. The eNodeB sends the RRC Connection Reconfiguration message including the EPS Radio Bearer Identity to the UE, and the Attach Accept message will be sent along to the UE. Step 19. The UE sends the RRC Connection Reconfiguration Complete message to the eNodeB. Step 20. The eNodeB sends the Initial Context Response message to the new MME. Step 21. The UE sends a Direct Transfer message to the eNodeB, which includes the Attach Complete message. Step 22. The eNodeB forwards the Attach Complete message to the new MME in an Uplink NAS Transport message. Step 26. The HSS stores the APN and PDN GW identity pair and sends a Notify Response to the MME.[1] ➽ If any part of the contents of this channel is that your property (as a musician, label, video, image distributor or artist), please send me a personal message and your content will be removed within 24 hours. Get web page data into Excel using VBA
Our Excel training videos on YouTube cover formulas, functions and VBA. Useful for beginners as well as advanced learners. New upload every Thursday. For details you can visit our website: http://www.exceltrainingvideos.com/complete-automation-of-getting-web-page-data-into-excel-worksheet-using-vba/ In this video we show the complete automation of how to get data into an Excel worksheet using VBA. 1. We first study the website and find out the elements we'll need to access a form and the subsequent results. When you study the web page's HTML source code you'll note that the actual results are wrapped up in DIV containers. 2. Next we write the VBA code We use the getElementById method to get a reference to a single object and the getElementsByTagName method to get a collection of all the elements. Next we loop through all the elements and get the text properties or data ('innertext') of all the elements we wish to have. Our code instantiates our web browser (Internet Explorer) and navigates to the URL of our choice and then helps to get or extract the data using events. We also ensure that the code is placed in appropriate columns and rows so that any further analysis is made easy. Finally we use a recorded macro to format the data to make it more presentable to the human eye. You can view the complete code at: http://www.exceltrainingvideos.com/complete-automation-of-getting-web-page-data-into-excel-worksheet-using-vba/ Interesting Links: http://www.tushar-mehta.com/publish_train/xl_vba_cases/vba_web_pages_services/index.htm http://officevbavsto-en.blogspot.com.br/2012/06/vba-internet-acessing-web-pages-through_15.html?m=1 Get the book Excel 2016 Power Programming with VBA: http://amzn.to/2kDP35V If you are from India you can get this book here: http://amzn.to/2jzJGqU

AngularJS page refresh problem
Resource interpreted as Stylesheet but transferred with MIME type text/html angularjs html5mode refresh 404 angularjs refresh page 404 angularjs routing refresh uncaught syntaxerror unexpected token angularjs In this video we will discuss page refresh issue that may arise when you refresh the page by pressing CTRL + F5 or CTRL + R. This is continuation to Part 30. Please watch Part 30 from AngularJS Tutorial before proceeding. What is the issue : When you navigate to http://localhost/students, you will see list of students. Click on any student name. For example when you click on Mark, you will see mark details and the URL in the address bar is http://localhost/students/1 At this point if you refresh the page by pressing CTRL + F5 or CTRL + R, the student details disappear and we also loose the page styles. Part 47 Displaying images in asp net mvc
In this video, we will discuss displaying images in MVC application. In Part 48, we will create a custom html helper to display images. We will be using the example, that we worked with in Part 46. We want to display Employee photo, along with the personal details. Alter table tblEmployee to add Photo, and AlternateText columns. Alter table Add Photo nvarchar(100), AlternateText nvarchar(100) Update Photo and AlternateText columns Update tblEmployee set Photo='~/Photos/JohnSmith.png', AlternateText = 'John Smith Photo' where Id = 1 Right click on the solution explorer and add "Photos" folder. From my blog download JohnSmith.png and add to "Photos" folder. http://csharp-video-tutorials.blogspot.com/2013/07/part-47-displaying-images-in-aspnet-mvc.html Now, in MVCDemo project, update SampleDataModel.edmx. 1. Right click on "Employee" table and select "Update Model from database" option 2. On "Update Wizard" window, click on "Refresh" tab 3. Expand tables node, and select "tblEmployee" table 4. Finally click "Finish" At this point, "Photo" and "AlternateText" properties must be added to the auto-generated "Employee" class. Generate Details view 1. Delete "Details.cshtml" view, if it already exists. 2. Right click on "Details" action method and select "Add View" 3. In "Add View" window, set View Name = Details View engine = Razor Create a strongly typed view = Select the checkbox Model class = Employee(MVCDemo.Models) Scaffold template = Details At this point, if you run the application, instead of rendering the photo, the PhotoPath and AlternateText property values are displayed. Use the IMG tag as shown below. Notice that, we are using Url.Content html helper method. This method resolves a url for a resource when we pass it the relative path. Make sure to replace [ with LESSTHAN and ] with GREATERTHAN symbol. [div class="display-label"] @Html.DisplayNameFor(model =] model.Photo) [/div] [div class="display-field"] [img src="@Url.Content(@Model.Photo)" alt="@Model.AlternateText" /] [/div] Run the application, and notice that, the image is rendered as expected. In our next video, we will discuss creating a custom html image helper. Remove # from URL AngularJS
$locationprovider html5mode angularjs html5mode example angularjs remove hash in url angularjs clean urls angularjs pretty urls angularjs html5mode routing angularjs routeprovider html5mode angularjs routing html5 mode In this video we will discuss how to remove # from URL. This is continuation to Part 26. Please watch Part 26 from AngularJS tutorial. There are 4 simple steps to remove # from URLs in Angular. Step 1 : Enable html5mode routing. To do this inject $locationProvider into config() function in script.js and call html5Mode() method passing true as the argument value. With this change the config function will now look as shown below. .config(function ($routeProvider, $locationProvider) { $routeProvider .when("/home", { templateUrl: "Templates/home.html", controller: "homeController" }) .when("/courses", { templateUrl: "Templates/courses.html", controller: "coursesController" }) .when("/students", { templateUrl: "Templates/students.html", controller: "studentsController" }) $locationProvider.html5Mode(true); }) Step 2 : In index.html, remove # symbols from all the links. The links in index.html should look as shown below. [a href="home"]Home[/a] [a href="courses"]Courses[/a] [a href="students"]Students[/a] Step 3 : Include the following URL rewrite rule in web.config. This rewrite rule, rewrites all urls to index.html, except if the request is for a file, or a directory or a Web API request. [system.webServer] [rewrite] [rules] [rule name="RewriteRules" stopProcessing="true"] [match url=".*" /] [conditions logicalGrouping="MatchAll"] [add input="{REQUEST_FILENAME}" matchType="IsFile" negate="true" /] [add input="{REQUEST_FILENAME}" matchType="IsDirectory" negate="true" /] [add input="{REQUEST_URI}" pattern="^/(api)" negate="true" /] [/conditions] [action type="Rewrite" url="/index.html" /] [/rule] [/rules] [/rewrite] [/system.webServer] Step 4 : Set the base href to the location of your single page application. In the head section of index.html include the following line. [base href="/" /] Link for all dot net and sql server video tutorial playlists https://www.youtube.com/user/kudvenkat/playlists?sort=dd&view=1 Link for slides, code samples and text version of the video http://csharp-video-tutorials.blogspot.com/2016/02/remove-from-url-angularjs.html
