MySQL Workbench Database Export and Import

08:08
Learn Database Export and Import using MySQL Workbench. Open MySQL Workbench and logged in to MySQL database server using 'root' username and password. In previous couple of videos we learned how to Create, Alter, Drop Databases and Tables and also how to Insert, Read, Update, Delete data rows using MySQL Workbench. In this lecture we will learn how to Export and Import the database using MySQL Workbench. First of all to Export the databases or tables, from top menu 'Server' select 'Data Export' Option, which opens a new window of data export settings and options. The left section on the window displays all the existing databases on our MySQL database server. When we select a database by clicking on it, it displays all the respected tables under the selected database. We can select one or multiple database check-boxes to include the database in the Export file. Under 'Export Options' section, You can change the default export path of you choice. I'll keep the default one. By selecting first option that is 'Export to Dump Project Folder'. MySQL Workbench will save the save all tables as separate SQL file under one folder. Which is useful when you will be importing or restoring the export file one by one table. I'll go ahead quickly and first save as 'Export to Dump Project Folder', MySQL Workbench displays the progress bar and log. Now, I'll again export the database using 'Export to Self-contained File' option. To demonstrate the import first I'll delete the existing 'students' table under 'mytestdb' database. Display database details by clicking on 'i' symbol, select 'tables' tab. Select and right click 'students' table, and click 'Drop Table' option, confirm and delete the table. Click 'refresh' to update the tables section and we have no table in our 'mytestdb' database. Now select the database and from 'data import' window, select 'import from dump folder. 'Load folder contents' and select only 'mytestdb' database and click start import button to import 'students' table again. Go to 'mytestdb' database information window again and click 'refresh' button to reload table list again. and the 'students' table is back. General Query Logging for MySQL in Windows: If General Query logs are enabled without providing the location for General Query log file, then by default location for the General Query log will be "C:\ProgramData\MySQL\MySQL Server 8.0\Data" and file name will be "HostName.log". To make change for General Query log file location and name , you can go to my.ini file on below path "C:\ProgramData\MySQL\MySQL Server 8.0", Look for general-log=0 general_log_file="HostName.log" Change the value general-log=1 to enable it. if you would like to update the location for file, you can change in general-log-file=Folder Path/GeneralQueryLogFile.log General Query Log File in Linux: The default location for General Query log file for MySQL installed on Linux is /var/lib/MySQL. If you need to make changes to default location and binary file name, you can go to /etc/my.cnf file and update it. In case of default location, the name of the file will be "HostName.log". You can add below configuration to /etc/my.cnf to enable or disable General Query log. general-log=0 general_log_file="/DirectoryPath/HostName.log" Once you will make the changes, you will be restarting the MySQL service. MySQL DBA Training 1 MySQL Architecture

25:15
Session 1: MySQL Architecture. To Learn or Teach Linux visit www.theskillpedia.com, A Marketplace for Learners and Trainers. www.hometutor.net.in. To know about me visit my profile at www.rnsangwan.com. I deliver online training on Business Analysis, Linux, Unix, MySQL, Sybase, SQL Server, Perl, Python, R Data Analysis, Scala etc. http://youtube.com/user/theskillpedia General RDBMS Architecture • It has three main components: • Application Layer • Logical Layer • Physical Layer MySQL Architecture Overview APPLICATION LAYER • Users and clients interacts with the MySQL RDBMS. • Three components: ◦ Administrators ◦ Clients ◦ Query Users • Query users interact with MySQL RDBMS using “mysql”. MySQL Architecture Overview LOGICAL LAYER • The logical layer of MySQL architecture is divided into various subsystems. ◦ Query Processor. ◦ Transaction Management. ◦ Recovery Management. ◦ Storage Management. • These sub systems work together to process the requests issued to the MySQL database server. Physical Layer Physical Layer • Data files, which store the user data in the database • Data dictionary, which stores metadata about the structure of the database Physical Layer  Database directories. Each database corresponds to a single directory.  Table format files (.frm files) that contain a description of table structure.  The InnoDB storage engine has its own tablespace and log files.  The default tablespace file is named ibdata1 and the default log files are named ib_logfile0 and ib_logfile1.  Server log files and status files. Physical Layer  A storage engine has a particular set of operational characteristics.  When you create a table, you can choose what storage engine to use. MySQL’s Logical Architecture ◦ Embedded DML Pre-compiler. ◦ DDL Compiler. ◦ Query Parser. ◦ Query Preprocessor. ◦ Security/Integration Manager. ◦ Query Optimizer. ◦ Execution Engine. • The output of one of the above component becomes the input for another. • Query processor layer is scalable and evolvable. Transaction Management • It facilitates concurrent data access. • Provides locking facility. • Ensures multiple users/sessions access data simultaneously in a consistent way. • Prevents data corruption or data damage. • Lock Manager is the sub component name that handles locking. Recovery Management • Log Manager ◦ Logs every operation executed in the database. ◦ Stores the operations logs as MySQL Commands. • Recovery Manager ◦ Responsible for recovering the database to its last stable state. ◦ Uses the logs created by the log manager. Memory Management • Buffer Manager ◦ It allocated memory resources. • Resource Manager ◦ Accepts the requests from execution engine. ◦ Requests the details from buffer manager. ◦ It actually receives references of data with memory from buffer manager. ◦ Returns this data to the upper layer. MySQL Concepts: InnoDB  It supports row-level locking.  Foreign key referential-integrity constraint can be defined.  Table can extend to any size even beyond 2 GB and power loss recovery is fast.  The InnoDB stores user data in clustered indexes  This reduces I/O for common queries based on primary keys  InnoDB should be used for applications requiring the data integrity.  MyISAM is the improved version of the original storage engine of MySQL, ISAM  After MySQL 3.23, MyISAM replaced ISAM as the default storage engine.  It is also used for data warehousing  The size of MyISAM table depends on the host operating system  The foreign key constraint cannot be defined  MyISAM is the only storage engine that supports Full-text search  It also supports one auto increment column per table  A high-byte-first pattern for saving numeric key values ensures faster indexing  It can be used where fulltext indexing is needed Communication Protocols  A MySQL client program can connect to a server running on the same machine or another machine.  MySQL supports connections between clients and the server using several networking protocols.  Some protocols are applicable for connecting to either local or remote servers. Others can be used only for local servers. Visit www.rnsangwan.com

How to Set ODBC MySQL Driver

02:09
Follow this step by step tutorial to learn how to setup MySql ODBC driver for windows and how it is configured. Don't forget to check out our site http://howtech.tv/ for more free how-to videos! http://youtube.com/ithowtovids - our feed http://www.facebook.com/howtechtv - join us on facebook https://plus.google.com/103440382717658277879 - our group in Google+ ODBC stands for Open Database Connectivity. It is used to provide a connection for the database. It acts like a bridge between the database manager and the Operating System. With this driver installed and configured, we can use our database with various applications such as spreadsheets, reporting tools or various other software suits. In this tutorial we will learn to set up the same my sql ODBC driver Step 1- Download First, let's download my sql ODBC driver. It can be downloaded from dev.mysql.com. Over there, choose the version according to the operating system we are running. For this tutorial, we will be setting the ODBC MySQL driver in windows. Step 2- Installation After finishing with the download, run the setup for installation. Just follow the step by step process of the installation wizard to install the driver. Step 3- System Settings After the installation, we have to configure the connection. For that, open up the Control panel and click on the System and Security option. Step 4-Admin tools A window will open up with several options in it, open up the Administrative Tools option from there. Step 5-Data Source All of the Administrative tools would be displayed in a separate window. We have to setup our database connection, so for that click ODBC Data Sources option. Step 6- Adding System DSN A window will open up having different tabs in it. Choose System DSN tab and then click Add button on right. Step 7- Choosing ODBC option A window will open up having the list of ODBC drivers in it. As we have to configure our ODBC driver for MySQL, choose My SQL ODBC Driver option and click on Finish. Step 8-Configuring the Connection With that done, the odbc mysql configuration window will open up. In that window, give the data source a name, if MySQL instance is installed in the same pc in which we are setting up the ODBC driver, give "localhost" as a name of TCP IP server and leave the port as default. Give the appropriate user name for which you have granted access to your database, here let us assign "root" in user as it has access to all the databases by default and leave password field blank as root is configured with empty password by default. After that, we have to choose the required database which we want to be linked through this connection from the databases drop down menu in the bottom. After that, click OK button. Step 9- Connection Appeared In List The connection would appear in the System DSN Connections list. This connection basically contains the information of the server on which MySQL is installed and the database which has to be used. And this is how MySQL ODBC driver is setup in windows.

Create MySQL Database - MySQL Workbench Tutorial

17:15
We model a MySQL database using a diagram in MySQL workbench. We then forward engineer the diagram to create MySQL database on the server. MySQL workbench is a powerful tool for modeling and creating databases and we take advantage of it's relationship tool to create many to many relationship between our main movie table, and stars, directors and genres tables. I don't go into too much detail on how the relationships work in this video on purpose, I wanted to make a general overview of how MySQL workbench can be used to quickly created the model of a database with relationships between tables. ````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````` Hey guys, I'm now using Patreon to share improved and updated video lesson material. For a small fee you can access all the downloadable files from this lesson (source code, icons & graphics, cheat sheets) and everything else included in the video from the Patreon page. Additionally, you will get access to ALL Clever Techie videos in HD format with no ads. Thank you so much for supporting Clever Techie :) Download this video's files here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/create-mysql-20819048 This download (Patreon unlock) includes: (Scrape IMDB function php source code, workbench movies relational tables sql source code) + ( You also get access to ALL source code and any downloadable content of ALL Clever Techie videos, as well as access to ALL videos in HD 1080p quality format with all video ads removed! ) ````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````` From the video: Let's go ahead and create the database model which will hold all the data now using MySQL Workbench (a free program that you can download here). When you first open the Workbench, create a new connection by clicking on the + icon. I'm going to name my connection localhost and and put "root" for the username. Then press press the storage vault button and enter your password. You can then click on "test the connection" and you should get the message: "successfully made the MySQL connection." At this point, click OK, and then double click on this newly created connection to connect to your MySQL database server. Now go to File---New Model and double click on Add Diagram. This is the part of the program where we're going to be designing our database model. You will see a toolbar on the left side along with all the tools available which we can use to model the database. Go ahead and double-click on the New Table icon which will place a new table in the diagram. When the table shows up on the diagram, double-click on it, the new box will show up at the bottom of the screen where we can rename our table as well as specify all the column names and their appropriate data types. Name this table that we have just created "movies", and then for the very first column, enter "id" which will be the unique identifier for this table. This id will also act as primary key which is going to auto increment so make sure the primary key and auto-increment check boxes are both checked as well as not null (NN). Now let's go ahead and enter the rest of the column names. `````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````` ( Website ) https://clevertechie.com - PHP, JavaScript, Wordpress, CSS, and HTML tutorials in video and text format with cool looking graphics and diagrams. How to Enable the Query Log in MySQL

01:05
Follow this step by step easy tutorial to learn how to enable the query Log in MySQL and see how to make log file. Don't forget to check out our site http://howtech.tv/ for more free how-to videos! http://youtube.com/ithowtovids - our feed http://www.facebook.com/howtechtv - join us on facebook https://plus.google.com/103440382717658277879 - our group in Google+ Query logs are very useful, as they provide the record of the queries executed against the databases. These can help the programmers, Database developers and Administrators as well in trouble shooting the problems that sometimes arise. Additionally, these logs also play a very vital role in a scenario where transactions are performed against the database very much frequently for example in the case of banks, airlines etc. In MySQL, query log feature is not enabled by default; however we can enable it through just some simple steps. So in this tutorial we will focus on the same task, which would be to enable MySQL query Log. Step 1- Opening My.ini File To enable mysql query logging, just open up the my.ini file from the MySql Folder through the Wamp icon located in the taskbar Step 2- Specifying Log File Name Navigate to the end of the page, and just add the following line: Log=file_log.log Here, file_log is the filename, it can be any name over here but .log should be the extension of all the log files. Now just save the file and then close it. Step 3- Restarting WAMP Restart the Wamp services for the changes to take effect. For that, click on Wamp Server icon located on the taskbar usually, and click "Restart All Services" option. Step 4- Opening MySQL Console Having done that, let's open up the MySQL console to write a query to see whether it's logged or not. For that, click on Wamp Server, move to MySQL folder and then choose MySQL console option from the list. Step 5- Writing a simple query Now let us just write a simple query just to check whether mysql query logging has been enabled or not. Step 6- navigating inside MySQL directory To view the log file, open up the Data Folder in the MySQL directory. In this folder, we will find and open the log file that we specified earlier. Step 7- Verify the Log Once we open up the log file, you can see that all the details regarding the query that we entered are logged here. And this is how we can enable mysql query log.

Step 1- Control Panel To link MySQL with Access, first of all, we would have to make an ODBC connection. For this purpose, open up control panel and click on the System and Security option Step 2-Administrative Tools After that, move to the Administrative Tools option. Step 3-ODBC Connection Option Click on the ODBC data source option. Step 4- Making System DSN ODBC data source admin window will open up. Over here, move to the DSN tab and click on the Add button. Step 5- Driver for MySQL Now scroll down the list, choose MySQL ODBC driver and click on the Finish button. Step 6- Configuring ODBC Connector A configuration window will open up. Give a name to the data source, type "local host" in the server field, specify "root" as a user, because it is a default user in all MySQL instances, and write the name of the desired database in the database field. Finally, click on the Test button. Step 7- Connection TEST A message will pop up confirming that the connection is successful. This means that now we would be able to link MySQL with Access. Step 8- Microsoft Access Now, open up Microsoft access, click on the Blank database option and let's create a new database. Step 9- External Data After that, move to the "External Data" tab and click on the More option. With that done, a drop down menu will appear on the screen. From the menu, choose the ODBC database option. Step 10- Linked Table Within the new window, choose the "Link to data source" option and hit Enter. Step 11- Machine Data Sources A window will open up where we will be required to choose the data source connection. Over here, move over to the Machine Data Source tab, choose the same DSN which was created earlier and hit Enter. Step 12- Selecting tables After that, it will show us all the tables which our database contains. We can choose any table individually or select all of them. For this tutorial, we will select all the tables in the database. Step 13-Database Imported to Access After that, all of the database tables would appear in Microsoft Access And that is how to open Mysql database from Access.

How to Setup Amazon Web Services EC2 Instance with Apache, PHP, MySQL Instructions: Go to http://aws.amazon.com/ and create a new account if you do not have an account already. A credit card or debit is required. Sign into your AWS account under console management. Select EC2 and create a new instance. Choose one of the Ubuntu AMIs, and leave everything default. Under Security groups, create a new security group with SSH and HTTP. Name your key and download. Under the terminal, maneuver to the key and chmod 400 to make sure that the permissions are correct. Under windows, you may have to run as administrator the command prompt or cygwin to chmod properly. Or you can use the command that I did, which was: chown :Users testTutorial.pem Then I did: chmod 400 testTutorial.pem Allows only me to read Then: ssh -i testTutorial.pem [email protected](public IP) Once you are on the Ubuntu AMI, you can start to mess around with the packages to install. I recommend the following: Run the command: sudo apt-get install apache2 libapache2-mod-php5 php5 mysql-server php5-mysql You can also get phpadmin if you would like. Remember to restart the apache service: service apache2 restart Then, run a secure installation of mysql: mysql_secure_installation Go put in your browser the public IP. It works! But what if you want to change the index.html Well, go cd ../../var/www In this directory www, you can edit the index.html sudo vim index.html You can change the index.html to anything you want using the editor of your choice. The site changes. MySQL is an open source SQL database management system developed by Oracle Corporation.SQL stands for Structured Query Language, which is a standardized language used to access databases. MySQL is a relational database management system (RDBMS). This means that the database stores data in separate tables, with structures organized into physical files optimized for speed. Users set up rules governing the relationships between different data fields, using SQL.yum localinstall https://dev.mysql.com/get/mysql57-community-release-el7-9.noarch.rpm yum install -y mysql-community-server systemctl start mysqld && systemctl enable mysqld netstat -plntu | grep mysql grep 'temporary password' /var/log/mysqld.log Default MySQL Root Password:- YbKZd3++-dmr New Password :- [email protected]+bV mysql -u root -p ALTER USER 'root'@'localhost' IDENTIFIED BY '[email protected]+bV'; FLUSH PRIVILEGES; EXIT; Enable SSL for MySQL:- By default, MySQL Has its Own SSL Certificates, Stored in /var/lib/mysql. For The purpose of this Tutorial, These Certificates r good enough.
