Where To Find Gold In The UK?

02:36
Where to find gold in the UK? We take a look at where to find gold UK. What many people don't realise is that you can find gold in the UK. Finding gold can be extremely exciting, but you have to know where to look. England has always been known as a wealthy country, but the mineral wealth has never gotten much attention. The country is actually quite rich in mineral resources, and there have been discoveries of various minerals all across the UK. Different areas have produced different minerals deposits. Iron, copper, silver, tin and lead have all been mined in England, but with the high price of gold in recent years there has been increasing interest in gold from casual prospectors. In this video we take a look at some of the best places to find gold in the UK. Thank you for watching! Thank you to CO.AG for the background music!

Galantas Gold boss eyes finance for Omagh mine after permit milestone

04:47
The president and chief executive of Galantas Gold (LON:GAL), Roland Phelps, says the company is working to secure finance for its Omagh gold mine after winning a crucial planning permit. Shares in the miner rocketed today to 7.5p as the Northern Irish government issued the firm with a long-awaited planning consent so an underground mine at the Omagh site can now go ahead. “This is the result of three years of hard work,” said the CEO speaking to Proactive Investors. Phelps says Galantas’ strategy is to establish the underground mine as soon as finance is available and look for further expansion of gold resources on the property, which has many un-drilled targets.

05:54
An animated comparison of the richest country in the world. All 188 countries ranked according to their National Wealth - how rich are they, and if all their money were to convert to gold, how big will the amount of gold they have relative to the size of a human. Also featuring World's richest person Jeff Bezos who is richer than over 100 countries, and Apple, the richest company, which market capitalization is richer than over 150 countries! Source: Credit Suisse (Global Wealth Data Book 2017) Note: 1) Figures listed refers to National Wealth and NOT GDP!!! National Wealth refers to the cumulative sum of every adult marketable value of financial assets plus non-financial assets (principally housing and land) less debts. 2) All 195 United Nation countries included except for Cape Verde, Nauru, Palestine, St Kitts and Nevis, South Sudan, Tuvalu and Vatican City due to lack of available data. 3) Solid Gold Cube refers to a theoretical 1m by 1m by 1m 100% Gold Cube purchased at the current market price. It does not represent Gold Reserves but rather how much gold can be bought if all national wealth/financial assets were converted into gold. Geological Sciences - Education and Research at Stockholm University

14:41
Geology is the science of Planet Earth, the science of how rocks and sediments formed and the science of deep time. Oceans and continents undergo continuous change and these changes are recorded in rocks, minerals and sediments. Geological knowledge is important for the sustainable use and exploration of mineral resources, for the prediction and understanding of natural hazards, for the remediation of environmental problems, and for providing a time perspective on climate change. The Department of Geological Sciences at Stockholm University is at the cutting edge of research and education in these fields. This film introduces the department and provides a glimpse of what the department has to offer in respect to teaching, field excursions and research.

Geological Survey of Pakistan - Video Learning - WizScience.com

03:48
The "Geological Survey of Pakistan" , is an autonomous and independent institution under Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources which is tasked and mandate with advancing the geoscience knowledge and carrying out systematic studies on official mapping and area surveying. The scientists of GSP thoroughly studies the landscape of Pakistan, its natural resources, and the natural hazards that threaten it. Apart from studying geology, it has various major science disciplines, concerning biology, engineering, hydrology, chemistry and physics. Due to its reputation and studies on fact-finding research, it has undertaken various efforts and studies on mineral exploration and extraction as well. Headquartered in Quetta, it has a main office in Islamabad and other regional offices in all over the country, and as of current, Dr. Imran Khan is the current and designated director-general of the Geological Survey of Pakistan. As early as 1836–51, the British crown government decided to set up the geological survey to explore the British Indian Empire under the British geologist David Williams who later founded the Geological Survey of India. After the independence of Pakistan from the British Indian Empire, the Geological Survey of India's north-west branch, staff and assets were evolved into creating to Geological Survey of Pakistan . At the time of its establishment, the GSP had consisted of only six geologist and two chemists under British scientist H.L. Crookshank, who was at that time was the most senior scientist working. Immediately, H.L. Crookshank was appointed first director general of GSP which he remained until 1955. Under Crookshank, the technical staff was increased to 30 geoscientists in 1948. In its formative years, the GSP did the pioneering work in hydrogeology and engineering but the efforts were transfer to engineering units of the military. In 1949–55, the GSP initiated a rigorous tradition of field investigations with the governmental support, and reconnaissance technology was transferred to GSP through the Colombo Plan. Due to these activities, it increased the operational, scientific capabilities, and expansion of facilities of the GSP by 1956; it became one of the pioneering scientific institution of the government. In 1955, English geologist, E.R. Gee, took over the GSP who initiated a massive expansion programme for GSP, including engineering, photogeology sections, as well as systematic publications journals were established. In 1959, the construction of new headquarters in Quetta was completed with Dr. N.M. Khan becoming first native GSP's director. By 1956, the GSP worked extremely close with the United States Geological Survey ; the USGS established multi-million dollar work laboratories and facilities in all over the country and cooperation continued until 1970. In 1957, the GSP discovered the large stockpiles of uranium in Sindh and Punjab. In addition, the GSP helped established country's universities to teach geoscience and engineering as part of their university programmes. WOE 24 Geologic Mapping

07:26
What On Earth Program 24 Segment One Mapping the Earth's Resources Students are introduced to the process of geologic mapping as they observe four geologists develop a geologic map for a small area in North Carolina's eastern Piedmont. The team begins by searching for information concerning the area that might be available and recording it on a base map. The base map is then used to organize the team's field work in a systemic manner. Gena and Vaste determine the orientation of rock units by measuring each outcrop's strike and dip while Ron and Clay study rocks in another area. Samples and careful notes are taken at each outcrop. Samples taken in the field are later studied in the laboratory. The completed map and notes are made available for other geologists. Throughout this segment, emphasis is placed on use of the scientific method and multiple working hypotheses.

Hunters and Fishers of the North - Stone Age life in coastal Norway

14:18
The Norwegian west coast is an archipelago with rich marine resources. This has been an attractive settlement area for people in most part of the prehistory. There is a particularly high density of Stone Age sites here, and these have a tendency to cluster around narrow streams rich on marine food resources. In this film we explore the formation of cultural deposits (culture-layers) on these sites, and how accumulation of such layers is interlinked with geological processes taking place after the last ice age.

FIJI FACTS IN HINDI || ये है दूसरा भारत  || FIJI INFORMATION IN HINDI || FIJI NIGHTLIFE || FIJI

03:16
HELLO GUYS HOW R U ALL , IN THIS VIDEO IM TALK ABOUT FIJI . #FIJI #FIJIFACTS #MINIINDIA Fiji (/ˈfiːdʒiː/ (About this sound listen) FEE-jee; Fijian: Viti [ˈβitʃi]; Fiji Hindi: फ़िजी), officially the Republic of Fiji[10] (Fijian: Matanitu Tugalala o Viti;[11] Fiji Hindi: फ़िजी गणराज्य),[12] is an island country in Melanesia in the South Pacific Ocean about 1,100 nautical miles (2,000 km; 1,300 mi) northeast of New Zealand's North Island. Its closest neighbours are Vanuatu to the west, New Caledonia to the southwest, New Zealand's Kermadec Islands to the southeast, Tonga to the east, the Samoas and France's Wallis and Futuna to the northeast, and Tuvalu to the north. Fiji is an archipelago of more than 330 islands, of which 110 are permanently inhabited, and more than 500 islets, amounting to a total land area of about 18,300 square kilometres (7,100 sq mi). The farthest island is Ono-i-Lau. The two major islands, Viti Levu and Vanua Levu, account for 87% of the total population of 898,760. The capital, Suva on Viti Levu, serves as Fiji's principal cruise port.[13] About three-quarters of Fijians live on Viti Levu's coasts, either in Suva or in smaller urban centres like Nadi (tourism)[13] or Lautoka (sugar cane industry). Viti Levu's interior is sparsely inhabited due to its terrain.[14] Fiji has one of the most developed economies in the Pacific due to an abundance of forest, mineral, and fish resources. Today, the main sources of foreign exchange are its tourist industry and sugar exports.[3] The country's currency is the Fijian dollar. Fiji's local government, in the form of city and town councils, is supervised by the Ministry of Local Government and Urban Development.[15] The majority of Fiji's islands were formed through volcanic activity starting around 150 million years ago. Today, some geothermal activity still occurs on the islands of Vanua Levu and Taveuni.[16] Fiji has been inhabited since the second millennium BC, and was settled first by Austronesians and later by Melanesians, with some Polynesian influences. Europeans visited Fiji from the 17th century,[17] and, after a brief period as an independent kingdom, the British established the Colony of Fiji in 1874. Fiji was a Crown colony until 1970, when it gained independence as a Commonwealth realm. A republic was declared in 1987, following a series of coups d'état. Pottery art from Fijian towns shows that Fiji was settled before or around 3500 to 1000 BC, although the question of Pacific migration still lingers. It is believed that the Lapita people or the ancestors of the Polynesians settled the islands first but not much is known of what became of them after the Melanesians arrived; they may have had some influence on the new culture, and archaeological evidence shows that they would have then moved on to Samoa, Tonga and even Hawai'i. The first Europeans to land and live among the Fijians were shipwrecked sailors like Charles Savage. The first settlements in Fiji were started by voyaging traders and settlers from the west about 5000 years ago. Lapita pottery shards have been found at numerous excavations around the country. Aspects of Fijian culture are similar to the Melanesian culture of the western Pacific but have a stronger connection to the older Polynesian cultures. Trade between Fiji and neighbouring archipelagos long before European contact is testified by the canoes made from native Fijian trees found in Tonga and Tongan words being part of the language of the Lau group of islands. Pots made in Fiji have been found in Samoa and even the Marquesas Islands. The conquest of the Netherlands by Napoleon had left the Dutch colonists in a state of limbo, with the British claiming authority over them despite their homeland being ruled by the French. Many of these settlers, known as the Boers, moved inland to escape British oversight and pushed into land owned by the Zulus. Mpande, the new Zulu leader, attempted to keep the peace between the British and the Boers, but the treaties he negotiated on both sides only led to further conflict. Eventually, his son Cetshwayo peacefully took power over the Zulus around the same time that the Europeans discovered diamonds in South Africa. The government of Great Britain took an even greater interest in South Africa, stepping in to try to bribe or force the relucant natives to work the diamond mines established by European mining firms. Secretary of State Lord Carnarvon, who was responsible for the unification of colonies in Canada, made it his mission to unify the South African colonies and appointed Henry Bartle Frere as his governor and representative. Bartle Frere removed the local Capetown government, who had been largely sympathetic to the native peoples and opposed his harsh unification policies, then issued harsh and intentionally impossible demands against the Zulu. Cetshwayo refused to accept these demands, and thus began the Anglo-Zulu War of 1879. ____________ Get the intro music here! http://bit.ly/1EQA5N7 *Music by Demetori: http://bit.ly/1AaJG4H Listen to the outro music here! http://bit.ly/1L6ihlE __________ Extra History - World War I: The Seminal Tragedy The Concert of Europe: http://bit.ly/1uLnt5X James Recommends - Mod Week! Rimworld Alpha 15 Modded Ice Sheet Survival YOLO Scenario | Extreme Difficulty, Randy Random | Ep 1

46:23
This is a Rimworld Alpha 15 custom scenario where we will be doing a modded survival run on the absolute coldest part of the ice sheet biome I could find. We start with two colonists with somewhat similar gear to the rich explorer scenario, only no research and a bit more equipment. This is on extreme difficulty with Randy Random as the storyteller, so there's no telling what atrocities will befall us in this planet, known as "The Icebox." I wanted to try a run where more than NPCs, the real opponent is the environment, and this is definitely it. Just a few moments outside and a normal character would develop hypothermia. Oh, and we're playing permadeath, so no do overs. Inspired by Dwarf Fortress, Firefly, and Dune. You begin with three survivors of a shipwreck on a distant world. Manage colonists' moods, needs, wounds, and illnesses. Fashion structures, weapons, and apparel from metal, wood, stone, cloth, or futuristic materials. Tame and train cute pets, productive farm animals, and deadly attack beasts. Watch colonists develop and break relationships with family members, lovers, and spouses. Fight pirate raiders, hostile tribes, rampaging animals, giant tunnelling insects and ancient killing machines. Trade with passing ships and trade caravans. Decorate your colony to make it into a pleasurable space. Dig through snow, weather storms, and fight fires. Capture refugees or prisoners and turn them to your side or sell them into slavery. Discover a new generated world each time you play. Build colonies in the desert, jungle, tundra, and more. Learn to play easily with the help of an intelligent and unobtrusive AI tutor. RimWorld is a story generator. It’s designed to co-author tragic, twisted, and triumphant stories about imprisoned pirates, desperate colonists, starvation and survival. It works by controlling the “random” events that the world throws at you. Every thunderstorm, pirate raid, and traveling salesman is a card dealt into your story by the AI Storyteller. There are several storytellers to choose from. Randy Random does crazy stuff, Cassandra Classic goes for rising tension, and Phoebe Friendly just makes good things happen. Your colonists are not professional settlers – they’re crash-landed survivors from a passenger liner destroyed in orbit. You can end up with a nobleman, an accountant, and a housewife. You’ll acquire more colonists by capturing them in combat and turning them to your side, buying them from slave traders, or taking in refugees. So your colony will always be a motley crew. Each person’s background is tracked and affects how they play. A nobleman will be great at social skills (recruiting prisoners, negotiating trade prices), but refuse to do physical work. A farm oaf knows how to grow food by long experience, but cannot do research. A nerdy scientist is great at research, but cannot do social tasks at all. A genetically engineered assassin can do nothing but kill – but he does that very well. Colonists develop - and destroy - relationships. Each has an opinion of the others, which determines whether they'll become lovers, marry, cheat, or fight. Perhaps your two best colonists are happily married - until one of them falls for the dashing surgeon who saved her from a gunshot wound. The game generates a whole planet from pole to equator. You choose whether to land your crash pods in a cold northern tundra, a parched desert plain, a temperate forest, or a steaming equatorial jungle. Different areas have different animals, plants, diseases, temperatures, rainfall, mineral resources, and terrain. These challenges of surviving in a disease-infested, choking jungle are very different from those in a parched desert wasteland or a frozen tundra with a two-month growing season. ---------------------------------- Intro Music by Andru: https://soundcloud.com/andruofficial/loverunsout

What Would Happen if “The BIG ONE” (Earthquake) Hits the WEST COAST

10:26
When most people think of the “Big One,” they often think about an earthquake caused by the San Andreas Fault. However, there’s actually a more dangerous fault called the Cascadia Subduction Zone. The Cascadia Subduction Zone, also known as the Cascadia Fault, is almost 700 miles long and stretches the west coast of North America from Vancouver Island to Northern California. For some perspective, an earthquake caused by the San Andreas Fault could reach 8.3 on the Richter scale, but a Cascadia earthquake will be more like a 9.2. That means that the quake could shake for up to four and a half minutes. →Subscribe for new videos every day! https://www.youtube.com/user/toptenznet?sub_confirmation=1 → → GET A T-SHIRT - http://www.toptenz.net/toptenz-t-shirts →Top 10 Objects That Were Clearly Invented Just to Annoy Physics: https://youtu.be/0MVGeRa-vLo →Simon's VLOG: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCvqt8j7DfPmveJp3UOk9XTg Entertaining and educational top 10 lists from TopTenzNet! New Caledonia & the autonomous region of Bougainville / Perspectives: Asia

55:19
Referenda on independence in New Caledonia & the autonomous region of Bougainville: Violent conflicts in New Caledonia (1980s) and Bougainville (1990s) were ended by political settlements between France and New Caledonia, and Papua New Guinea and Bougainville and could result in creation of two new small and potentially wealthy (mineral rich) Pacific states before the end of the current decade. Will the upcoming referendums deliver outcomes that are generally accepted, or will they generate new conflict? Such questions have obvious implications for regional relations. Our panellists will share their insights on the upcoming referendums the role Australia can play as a near neighbor, within this historic process. Rimworld Alpha 15 The Call of Cthulhu | New Start With Storyteller H.P. Lovecraft! | Ep 1 | Gameplay

42:56
We're starting up a brand new Rimworld Alpha 15 Custom Scenario featuring several Call of Cthulhu mods, as well as having an AI Storyteller of H.P. Lovecraft! The mods give us Cosmic horrors that we will have to endure, as well as neutral parties related to the works of H.P. Lovecraft. The Storyteller himself is supposedly very brutal when it comes to giving out raids, so we'll see about that. We also have on our More Vanilla Turrets mod, our expanded Organs and Bionics Mod, and our More Weapons mod as well. We're starting in the Boreal Forest, a biome we haven't touched yet, and it's quite nice. A good mixture of fruits and animals, but it is absolutely PACKED with trees.

Imperialism: Crash Course World History #35

13:46
In which John Green teaches you about European Imperialism in the 19th century. European powers started to create colonial empires way back in the 16th century, but businesses really took off in the 19th century, especially in Asia and Africa. During the 1800s, European powers carved out spheres of influence in China, India, and pretty much all of Africa. While all of the major (and some minor) powers in Europe participated in this new imperialism, England was by far the most dominant, once able to claim that the "sun never set on the British Empire." Also, they went to war for the right to continue to sell opium to the people of China. Twice. John will teach you how these empires managed to leverage the advances of the Industrial Revolution to build vast, wealth-generating empires. As it turns out, improved medicine, steam engines, and better guns were crucial in the 19th century conquests. Also, the willingness to exploit and abuse the people and resources of so-called "primitive" nations was very helpful in the whole enterprise.
