Financing activity on the TSX Venture Exchange growing across all sectors

07:03
In this interview, Brady Fletcher, Managing Director of the TSX Venture Exchange, speaks with Natasha Frakes about the unique two-tiered set up of TMX. Within TMX are two exchanges; the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) and the TSX Venture Exchange (TSX.V). The TSX acts as the senior exchange and competes with similar top tier senior global exchanges such as the LSE, NASDAQ, and NYSE. Whereas, the TSX.V acts as the junior exchange. Companies who choose to list with the TSX.V do so to raise capital, to have a share currency for making acquisitions, and to have publicly traded stock to incentivize employees. As a result of this two-tiered ecosystem, the past 16 years has resulted in a strong track record of growing TSX.V-listed companies up. Hundreds of companies have graduated off the TSX.V into the TSX, accounting for roughly 20% of the companies listed on the senior exchange. Animation for The Global Stock Exchange Project. Designed by Arch. Ahmad Salameh

04:24
Designed by Architect Ahmad Salameh, WHAT IS STOCK EXCHANGE? A stock exchange is a form of exchange which provides services for stock brokers and traders to trade stocks, bonds, and other securities. Stock exchanges also provide facilities for issue and redemption of securities and other financial instruments, and capital events including the payment of income and dividends. Securities traded on a stock exchange include shares issued by companies, unit trusts, derivatives, pooled investment products and bonds. WHY STOCK EXCHANGE? 1. Middle East is in need for such a project for the advancement of the region at the international level of the economic and political aspects. 2. Bringing the international attention to Jordan in particular and the surrounding area in general and solve the problems and the political conflicts in the region. 3. Contributes to solve the financial and the economical problems of the region. 4. Financial benefits for both the country and the citizens. 5. Creating new jobs and contributes to solve the problem of unemployment. WHY IN JORDAN? 1. Giving a clear picture of the strength of Jordan economically and politically in the Middle East. 2. The establishment of a global stock exchange makes the city of Amman the destination of financial sector, investment and projects. 3. Amman will become a great landmark in the world of finance and business, and will offer a Group of excellent quality services in the field of financial services and commercial expertise. 4. The development of the region in general and Amman in particular in terms of service-infrastructure. SITE SELECTION The selection of the AIRPORT ST. was by government policies and its desire to develop it and revive it effectively targeted different (residential and public buildings,... etc.) WHY AIRPORT STREET? 1. The Airport ST. works to meet the urgent need to increase the density built on the main roads to enhance the vision of the city. 2. The revival of public places in the city. 3. Allows for residents in Amman safe and easy access to all parts of the city. 4. Works on linking various development contracts that will be distributed along this road. 5. All developments worldwide are dominated by an increasing urbanization process. As a result, cities have become much more dense and at the same time more powerful. Both governmental bodies and private developers feel a need for city branding. ABOUT THE PROJECT With the intention of expressing the meaning of the Stock Exchange for the city of Amman, The Architect aims to combine contemporary with traditional culture to generate a place where all the necessary activities are facilitated, but next to this physical presence there is also a symbolic representation of a distinction from its surroundings. The project brings balance between the private and public functions and symbolizes the stable future position of the Amman Stock Exchange. There is a need for distinctive buildings. Important functions will always have to be expressed in their urban context. The Amman Stock Exchange is one of these symbolic functions that contribute to the attraction of living in the city. Because of its trading function it can be seen as the contemporary version of the traditional souks. Trading in shares, the core business of the Stock Exchange is an almost invisible activity but doesn't work without talking, gathering, meeting, discussing and telephoning. Having studied the development of stock exchanges all around the world, one can see a clear tendency towards more iconic buildings. To stand out, new stock exchanges have become more hybrid. Their traditional trading functions are inadequate and various programs have had to be added. Ironically these buildings are not outstanding for a long time: the city will grow around them with even more remarkable landmarks. The well-known stock exchanges in London and New York are not so outspoken. They can be considered small, solid jewelry boxes and don't compete at all with the buildings around them. Even more introvert is the Amsterdam Stock Exchange, which is known as the world's origin of these trading places. This building is positioned in the old city and has a very strong architectonical image. It represents the public function of the stock exchange, allowing the public to enter and provides space for public events. Also, its forecourt with the traditional gathering area, contributes to the city life around it.

Youth Exchange "Doing local, changing global"

18:01
On 2-12 of July 36 youngsters from Latvia, Estonia, Portugal, the Netherlands, Germany and Austria joined the international youth exchange “Doing local, changing global” which was organised by Latvian Red Cross within Erasmus+: Youth in Action program. It was realized in Latvia, Smiltene region, Grundzale district, Recreation Complex “Purgaili”. The main goal of the exchange was to give the Red Cross youngsters an opportunity to share international experience therefore enhancing knowledge about volunteering work and to create a platform for a united international voluntary activity to be done in the project partner countries. The 6 topics were volunteering work with: seniors; children and youth; children and youth from social risk groups (including youth in prison); health care and first aid program; refugees and asylum seekers; animals and environmental/nature projects and activities. During the exchange, in the first part of the day participants from each country shared their experience in working in the according topic. There was a great variety in fields of expertise among the participants. Using interactive methods, everyone discussed the presented information, exchanged opinions and learned more about the volunteering work, projects and different activities that are provided in different EU countries. All discussions were guided by a panel of experts. Each topic was followed up by a practical topic-related fieldtrip in the afternoon which helped not only to gain knowledge, but also to bring the knowledge into practice – to do a volunteering work in the according topic. E.g., all participants visited social care centre for elderly, multifunctional centre for youth, social correction educational institution for youth, children summer camps and others. The youngsters were fully involved in organizing workshops for elderly people and sports activities for children, in addition, they practically studied first aid and participated in informative seminar about work with refugees and asylum seekers while meeting representatives of governmental institutions and the international organization – the United Nationts Refugee Agency (UNHCR). They also explored Latvia`s nature by hiking near the beach – city of Jurmala. In the evenings, each group of different Red Cross national societies organised a cultural event to present their country – its food, literature, music, dancing, habits etc., so that others could learn more about different cultures. During the exchange, the team came up with a joint international voluntary activity – Social Media Campaign which will be implemented globally on 12th August with an aim to raise awareness of importance of youth volunteering and for promoting the fact that through sharing experience, volunteering can be done more efficiently. The Youth exchange “Doing local, changing global” is organized by the Latvian Red Cross within the program “Erasmus+: Youth in Action”, it is funded by European Commission with Latvian Red Cross co-financing.

Global Currenciez: What Is Forex? - Foreign Exchange, Currency Trading Market

03:58
https://globalcurrenciez.com Forex is the global decentralized market for trading currencies. This includes buying, selling and exchanging currencies at current, determined or future prices. Forex is by far the largest market in the world. As of 2016, Forex produces a daily trading volume of over $5.4 trillion. The main participants of the global forex market are larger financial institutions, mostly banks. Financial centers around the world operate as anchors of trading between a wide range of multiple types of buyers and sellers. Forex is short for foreign exchange. The foreign exchange market does not determine the relative value of different currencies, but sets the current market prices of the value of one currency as demanded against another.nThe foreign exchange market is commonly referred to as forex (pronounced "[ˈfôreks]"), FX, or currency market. The global currency market works through financial institutions, and it operates on several levels. Behind the scenes banks turn to a smaller number of financial firms known as “dealers,” who are actively involved in large quantities of foreign exchange trading. Most forex dealers are banks, so this market is called the “interbank market”. Trades between forex dealers can be very large, involving hundreds of millions or billions of dollars. The forex market assists international trade and investments by enabling currency conversion. For example, it permits a business in the United States to import goods from European Union member states, and pay Euros, even though its income is in United States dollars. It also supports direct speculation and evaluation relative to the value of currencies, and the carry trade, speculation based on the interest rate differential between two currencies. The global forex market is so unique because of its huge trading volume representing the largest asset class in the world leading to high liquidity; the variety of factors that affect exchange rates; the low margins of relative profit compared with other markets of fixed income; and the use of leverage to enhance profit and loss margins and with respect to account size. As such, it has been referred to as the market closest to the ideal of perfect competition, notwithstanding currency intervention by central banks. Forex Market Size and Forex Liquidity Forex is traded in an over-the-counter market where brokers/dealers negotiate directly with one another, so there is no central exchange or clearing house. The foreign exchange market is the most liquid financial market in the world. Traders include governments and central banks, commercial banks, other institutional investors and financial institutions, currency speculators, other commercial corporations, and individuals. Unlike a stock market, the foreign exchange market is divided into levels of access. At the top is the interbank market, which is made up of the largest commercial banks and securities dealers. Top 10 currency traders (May 2016) 1. Citi 2. JP Morgan 3. UBS 4. Deutsche Bank 5. Bank of America Merrill Lynch 6. Barclays 7. Goldman Sachs 8. HSBC 9. XTX Markets 10. Morgan Stanley The average daily turnover in the global currency exchange and related markets is growing. Forex trading increased by 20% in less than 3 years, and has more than doubled since 2004. This increase is due to a number of factors: the growing importance of forex as an asset class, the increased trading activity of high-frequency traders, and the emergence of retail investors as an important market segment. Electronic trading via online portals has made it easier for retail forex traders to trade in the currency trading market. The Columbian Exchange: Crash Course World History #23

12:09
In which John Green teaches you about the changes wrought by contact between the Old World and the New. John does this by exploring the totally awesome history book "The Columbian Exchange" by Alfred Cosby, Jr. After Columbus "discovered" the Americas, European conquerors, traders, and settlers brought all manner of changes to the formerly isolated continents. Disease and invasive plant and animal species remade the New World, usually in negative ways. While native people, plants, and animals were being displaced in the Americas, the rest of the world was benefitting from American imports, especially foods like maize, tomatoes, potatoes, pineapple, blueberries, sweet potatoes, and manioc. Was the Columbian Exchange a net positive? It's debatable. So debate. Yonsei Exchange Orientation Activity : Seoul Tour

02:35
Hi Guys, Long time no update! This is just a quick little video of the Seoul Tour that i went on as part of an orientation activity at the start of my exchange. On the first day at orientation you can sign up to 1 of 3 Seoul Tours, which include a private coach ride, various activities like watching musicals, checking out museums, sightseeing and dinner. It’s quite cheap, from memory 10,000 won (approx $10), and it’s a good way to make friends and visit various Korean sites while being chaperoned by the orientation team leaders. My tour included: War memorial of Korea Namsan Tower and Trick Eye Museum Dinner Cable Car ride at Namsan The video stops at Namsan tower, because sadly i got really sick and left early. Which is a reminder to pack your own medication (in your day bag) while on exchange, as it sucks being sick in a foreign country and not knowing where to quickly buy medication. Hope y’all like it ♡ -------------------- Yonsei Exchange, Study Abroad 2016. Based in Sydney, Australia. Nyenburgh Holding sounds the gong

01:01
Nyenburgh offers, through a partnership, professional traders the opportunity to rent a trading desk on the floor of Euronext or at any other location. This activity was previously executed by its subsidiary Global Exchange Trading Services B.V. (GETS). After MiFID II all partnerships with GETS have been transferred to Nyenburgh Holding. On this occasion they open trading on the Amsterdam exchange. Nyenburgh Holding B.V. was founded in 1996 and trades on its own account in cash equities and derivatives, and has access to multiple exchanges in and outside Europe. Nyenburgh has grown rapidly in recent years, partly because of its very competitive trading costs, service and transparency. Nyenburgh is located on the former trading floor of Euronext and has acquired a unique position within the professional trading community in the Netherlands.

The 6 topics were volunteering work with: - seniors; - children and youth; - children and youth from social risk groups (including youth in prison); - health care and first aid program; - refugees and asylum seekers; - animals and environmental/nature projects and activities. In the evenings, each group of different Red Cross national societies organised a cultural event to present their country – its food, literature, music, dancing, habits etc., so that others could learn more about different cultures.During the exchange, the team came up with a joint international voluntary activity – Social Media Campaign which will be implemented globally on 12th August with an aim to raise awareness of importance of youth volunteering and for promoting the fact that through sharing experience, volunteering can be done more efficiently. The Youth exchange “Doing local, changing global” is organized by the Latvian Red Cross within the program “Erasmus+: Youth in Action”, it is funded by European Commission with Latvian Red Cross co-financing.

International Global Exchange (IGEX) Announces Services Agreement With KINA Securities LTD

02:41
SOURCE:IGEX 6/17/2014 9:04:18 AM IGEX International Global Exchange (IGEX) Announces Services Agreement With KINA Securities LTD of Papua New Guinea JAKARTA, Indonesia, via eTeligis Inc., 06/17/2014 - - IGEX (OTC Pink: IGEX) (PINKSHEETS: IGEX), through its partnership with Halifax, has entered into a ten year services agreement with KINA Securities LTD, http://www.kina.com.pg, the largest brokerage company of Papua New Guinea (PNG). This agreement is to provide all KINA Securities clients with access to over 21 global exchanges that have direct access to international markets of equities, currencies, futures, CFDs, options, and commodities. KINA Securities represents 70% of all security transactions in PNG, and currently use E*Trade Securities as their main execution and clearing partner. KINA will be migrating all existing clients to IGEX but recognizes the huge value in offering a more sophisticated trading platform currently not available in PNG. This will position KINA to increase their market share and be able to grow business in alternative markets that currently also do not have direct access to international financial markets. The potential revenue from such an agreement with KINA is substantial due to KINA having already an established brand and client base within PNG. IGEX will book 100% of all revenue and retain 30% of all commissions and trading revenue executed on KINA's clients. This is further exemplified as over the past decade, Papua New Guinea's (PNG) economy has been experiencing high levels of economic growth largely in part due to FDI into the country's vast natural resources. It is forecasted that in 2014 the economy will grow by 6.0% and a record 21.0% in 2015. The government has therefore started to put measures in place that will enable PNG to establish itself as a formidable participant in a region that is experiencing some of the strongest economic activity on a global scale and will continue to do in the foreseeable future. To further take advantage of this unique opportunity, IGEX in partnership with KINA will be developing and implementing regular educational seminars and business gatherings in PNG to launch the new platform to existing customers and future and new customers that will be derived from the country's bullish economic growth. John O'Shea, President/CEO, of IGEX believes "signing such an agreement is substantial for IGEX both in immediate revenue and also underpinning its potential to operate in emerging markets such as PNG, Fiji, Malaysia, Philippines and other emerging markets that its currently targeting." IGEX is positioning itself at the forefront of the Asian financial market service sector through the support of partner relationships with noteworthy licensed suppliers of sophisticated global trading platforms in Equities, CFDs, Derivatives, Commodities, Energies, Foreign Exchange and Options. IGEXs world-class partners offer clients security and 100% transparency, which is critical for entry into this vast and virtually untapped Pacific Rim marketplace. Osaka Exchange’s CEO Discusses Its Global Footprint

04:19
“Our priority is to diversify our investor base. About 70 percent of our investors are from outside of Japan and 30 percent are domestic … For the domestic investors we didn’t see active participation from Japanese institutional investors so far.” The Osaka Exchange might be looking for more institutional activity, but its night sessions see a lot of action already. President & CEO Hiromi Yamaji said that after extending the night session to 5:30 a.m. Tokyo time, the overall share of trading activity that occurs at night rose to more than 42 percent in May. When it comes to the Nikkei 225 mini, nearly 50 percent of trades are executed during the night session.

In today’s forex forecast video, we discuss the outlook ahead for USD/JPY, NZD/USD, Fed rate hike bets and USD, along with Ryan Littlestone, Director at ForexLive, and Nick Batsford, CEO at Tip TV. Highlights: USD/JPY - “Area between 50% and the 61.8% Fibo always the big one. The current talk in the markets is ‘will the BOJ intervene’ or ‘can they intervene’. Its pretty much poised to extend losses given the consistency of the downtrend on the charts.” NZD/USD – “We got a 30 pip move after the RBNZ rate cut followed by a sharp rally. That’s what is happening with central banks these days.. minor drop in currency followed by sharp moves. The action reflectc central bank exhaustion. Next Fed rate hike likely to be met with similar reaction (in USD).” Tip TV Finance is a daily finance show based in Belgravia, London. Global Forest Link: Engaging Youth Worldwide

00:35
Session# 67 Mon 22 October 16:30 to 17:30 1 hr Room 1 GoToWebinar.com 854‐927‐907 Webcast URL https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/2539419254691109635# Abstract Global Forest Link (globalforestlink.com, GFL), an award‐winning environmental program, engages youth worldwide in active protection of the environment, with the goal of creating a more sustainable future. Forests are extremely important for human health, climate change mitigation, water purification, and for communities’ resilience and sustainability. Forest health monitoring and management require international collaboration, increased awareness of forest threats, a better understanding of forest processes, and practical skills in analyzing and communicating forest information. Initially developed as an education extension of the WRI’s Global Forest Watch platform, the Global Forest Link project has brought together over 1800 students from 100+ schools and youth groups, and 7 countries. Its key objective is to nurture a new generation of world stewards, who are skilled in modern earth observation technologies, data collection and analysis, evidence‐based education, international collaboration, environmental advocacy, and journalism. GFL teaches youth to explore key environmental change issues by integrating space imagery and local data, understand environmental and socio‐economic consequences of forest degradation, and to communicate their findings to peers and communities. These are important skills needed by future environmental advocates capable of formulating and promoting coordinated strategies and solutions to problems that require global cooperation. GFL addresses the UN 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, focusing on Goals 4 (ensure inclusive and equitable education), 13 (combat climate change and its impacts), and 15 (promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, and halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss). The project advances best education practices and promotes equitable access to information. GFL methodology and activities lower the barrier to engagement and enable environmental advocacy by youth around the world. The GFL interactive portal provides effective mechanisms for collection, analysis and sharing environmental and social information.

Pulse of the Planet. Time zones influence the global rhythm of communications. Pulse of the Planet illustrates the volume of international calls between New York City and 255 countries over the twenty-four hours in a day. Areas of the world receiving and making fewer phone calls shrink while areas experiencing a greater amount of voice call activity expand. International cities with the most call activity to and from New York are highlighted according to time zone. The world inside New York. World Within New York shows how different neighborhoods reach out to the rest of the world via the AT&T telephone network. The city is divided into a grid of 2-kilometer square pixels where each pixel is colored according to the regions of the world wherein the top connecting cities are located. The widths of the color bars represent the proportion of world regions in contact with each neighborhood. Encoded within each pixel is also a list of the world cities that account for 70% of the communications with that particular area of New York.

What Are Redox Reactions? (Oxygen Exchange) | Chemistry for All | FuseSchool

04:11
Learn the basics about the exchange of oxygen in oxidation-reduction reactions (REDOX) when learning about chemical reactions. In a chemical reaction, oxidation is oxygen GAIN and reduction is oxygen LOSS. A good example of oxidation is a combustion reaction. Hydrogen is a clean fuel that works by combination reaction with oxygen. Energy is released as bonds are formed, and this energy can be used to power cars or appliances. Oxygen also combines with metals. When oxygen reacts with iron, the iron is readily oxidised. This is why iron rusts. Haemoglobin in blood carries oxygen around the body by oxygen exchange reactions. The iron in the blood oxidises. Reduction is oxygen loss. Some oxides, when heated, release oxygen and are reduced. It is very important that we are able to make metal oxides lose oxygen, as pure metals that result from this process have unique properties that are useful for industry. For example, in a blast furnace. Coke is used to reduce iron ore (iron oxide) to iron metal. Simultaneous oxidation and reduction can take place in reactions, as happens in the blast furnace.
