From my perspective, it's the leader’s responsibility because the leader is accountable for the performance of the department and each employee. The (uncomfortable) truth of HR and leadership development | Patrick Vermeren | TEDxKMA
Quackery and pseudoscience can be very dangerous. Not only in medicine but also in human resources. Alarmed by the nonsensical ideas of Transactional Analysis, Patrick Vermeren set out on a mission to reveal the truth about the many HR theories, models and questionnaires. The academic literature revealed that most HR practices (in recruitment, assessment, development, coaching…) are very problematic and some even dangerous. In this Talk valid alternatives are presented. Patrick Vermeren has been active as a consultant, trainer and coach since 1996. He built on his experience at major Belgian banks ( Cera and Dexia) and an American multinational ( Procter & Gamble). Since he joined Perco he advises HR professionals and he guides groups and individuals in the areas of leadership, coaching and facilitating decision making in groups ( participation). He also assists CEOs, managers and high potentials through training and personal coaching. Strategy Development Simplified: What Is Strategy & How To Develop One? ✓
In this month's episode, I teach you various layers of strategy and how to use strategy tools. What I’d like to do in about 45 minutes to an hour is to give you a sense of what strategy is, what tools we use to develop strategy, and then teach you how to apply these corporate level tools to our day to day lives through developing strategic thinking abilities. So if you take this mini-course, by the end of it, you’ll very clearly learn what strategy is and its various levels such corporate strategy, business strategy, and functional strategies. You will no longer confuse it with tasks or goals, then you will learn about Strategy Canvas with value curves. It’s a tool that will help you see the bigger picture, help you with the positioning of your offerings and hence develop strategies to become… unique. And while I am teaching you these, I’ll run so many case studies to make it crystal clear for you. Then finally, the second half of the video will be the most useful part to you. Because in reality, you are probably not the strategy manager or the CEO of a large multinational company, you are probably not Coca Cola’s Chairman, so what I did at the 2nd half of the video is to customize strategy development so it can be applicable to your day to day lives. You will learn how to develop a strategic thinking that will apply to your work, apply to your family life, your school, in simple terms; your life. You’ll be a smarter person, because you’ll be more strategic in your thinking, you’ll have more success because you’ll be able to identify more opportunities, you’ll fail less because you’ll be able to identify risks even before they become apparent. And I’ll try my best to do the impossible and cover everything under 1 hour and make it super easy to understand. I’ll try but let’s see if I’ll succeed. So, what is strategy; Strategy is a word that gets used a lot and often in a wrong context. Most people confuse it with goals. Essentially, strategy is a roadmap to how we are going to win. Where you are is your “as-is” state, and where you want to go is your “to-be” state. How you are going to bridge that gap is your strategy. So, if I was to teach strategy to my children I’d say, you wanna reach the finish line first. You may walk straight to the finish line at 5 kms per hour, Or you may extend your route, take more time as you have to travel more distance, but collect the speed boost on the way so you go faster at the end at around 20 km per hour. Collecting that speed boost to win would be your strategy. now let’s get back to the adult world, in business, we have 3 major layers of strategy; We have Corporate Strategy We have Business Strategy And we have Functional strategy So, let’s start with corporate strategy;

Entrepreneur People Skills | Employee Development
http://jerrymitchellblog.com/ INTERVIEWER: So it's, in a lot of ways, people skills that differentiate... JERRY: I think it's the personality. I think there's people that are born with different genes that have different charismatic leadership things. They have all these charts with dominance, non-dominant and all the other things. I don't think leaders dominate; I think that's what's wrong. They're not dictators. All my leadership skills, I've always delegated to other people the responsibility to do things. And I nurture them because I know they fail. I fail. But it's like flying a kite. You let it go out in the air and once in awhile you've got to pull it back in. Sometimes you've got to put a tail on that kite. That's what you should do when you're developing people. I think entrepreneurs and leaders develop people. I don't think managers develop people. I think they develop systems to make the people work within a system. I think Dilbert hit that very carefully in what he's talked about management. Again, there is no management training. If someone's been in a company X number of years, we promote them to supervisor. After awhile, then he's a manager, and very little training is going into how you're going to train that person. An entrepreneur is born that way, and he learns a lot of stuff from watching. He's very observant about all those things, and he's very focused. He doesn't focus on the bottom line. He focuses on how is his vision going to come to fruition? He's got to open up his mind to other people, and I think he does, because he brings people -- I think entrepreneurs and leaders bring in people that complement their weaknesses. If you go into a hierarchy company in a major corporation, it's who gets a light switch on a wall or who gets the best furniture in there based on their structure in a company. You don't find that in entrepreneur companies. Everyone's equal. A clerical person is as equal as the president of the company. You don't treat people differently. I think once that changes, that's why people leave a company. Strategies to help you get promoted at work - Personality Development and Interpersonal skills
Strategies to help you get promoted at work - Personality Development and Interpersonal skills Blog : http://www.learnex.in/strategies-to-help-you-get-promoted-at-work Do you think, it is very tough to climb the corporate ladder? But, if you want a job that excites you and of course pays you well then you will have to climb it at some point. This means you want to get promoted. SO get into the line, everybody wants to improve their career prospects. Here are some tips that will help you to work on your promotion plan. Website : http://www.letstalkpodcast.com Facebook : http://www.facebook.com/skillopediaone 1. Start with self assessment - Before gearing up to request for a promotion you need to take a hard look at your work, the views and perspectives of your boss, your co workers and your clients about you. Check on your accomplishments and keep a log of your results. This is how you can sell yourself and then let know that you are seeking for a promotion. 2. Have a strong relationship with your seniors - A strong relationship with your managers and seniors of the company can open a lot of doors for you. This relationship with them helps you to understand a lot about the organisation and also about the kind of jobs you will have to do if you get promoted. Seniors also help to spread a good word about you. The more people know you, know your strengths and abilities and your value to the organization. Just slogging will not help if nobody knows you. 3. Ask for more responsibilities - Volunteering to help other teams and departments helps. Most people in the world do only those jobs that are assigned to them. But this should change for you as you want to grow in your career. Start asking for new responsibilities, this will put you in the spotlight. Try to achieve success in the jobs that you are taking up. You should build a reputation for being the kind of person who is given responsibility and definitely accomplishes it well. Asking for more work shows your interest and desire to help your company grow. 4. Acquire new knowledge and skills - You surely had the right mix of qualifications, skills and experience to get this current job but if you want to grow and get promoted you need to expand your knowledge and skills. Technology is rapidly changing and you have to perform well in that constantly changing environment. SO to stay in the market and of course to grow , start reading and keep up with the current industry news and events. 5. Prepare yourself for a no - If you been denied for a promotion. that's not the end of the world. Please don't give and lay your foundations for the future. You can always reapply in three or six months therefore start preparing yourself with the above tips. Make sure to follow up with an email thanking your manager for their time and confirming the details that you discussed. Hope these strategies help you to build your path to success.
Employer Engagement Strategies and Effective Job Development: A Multidimensional Approach
By Nancy Brooks-Lane, M.S., LPC, LMFT Work is the most effective and efficient means for individuals with and without disabilities to have a life of meaning, connections, and value. Work also forms the bridge to a life “well-lived”. While definitions of employer engagement vary based on programmatic beliefs, recent practices have illuminated methodologies that result in quality outcomes when developing interest-based jobs. Best-practices in competitive and integrated employment will form the structure for this training while story telling will humanize examples of quality outcomes. Additionally, we will examine the principles from which we provide support to individuals with disabilities to have a life that includes work. Nancy Brooks-Lane’s diverse skills include: training, technical assistance and side by side mentoring in best practices; organizational and system change strategic planning; and aligning policy, funding, and change. She has assisted persons with significant disabilities obtain customized employment or start their own business and has mentored, trained and provided technical assistance to self-advocates, families, providers, citizen advocates, funders and social and political leaders in the processes of best practices and system change. https://rrtc.vcu.edu/

I guarantee that with my employee development and training program, my human resources training courses and my leadership and management skills education you will take your business or organization to new profits and much higher success levels. My name is author Robert Kintigh and I have been an entrepreneur for over 22 years. I want to help you, transform your employees into a team by using what I call behavior modification techniques so that you can learn to enjoy and appreciate your company more and make more money. What is behavior modification or behavior modification strategies? This book and series is a combination of leadership management, the best employee training programs, training your human resources and managers these techniques and more importantly, striking at the root of the problem which is modifying their behavior and motivating in a new way. The best types of employee training programs are going to be based on leadership training and proper motivation. Quit complaining, quit giving up and start celebrating because once you read Introduction Employee Behavior Modification and the rest of the series, You will start training and developing employees in an entirely new way and no longer will you have the same frustrations your competitors will. The training has to start with an executive leadership development program because it is going to be up to you and the other executives to create a new synergy, new environment and a new team that will function as one and not as fragmented pieces. We will begin to teach you employee coaching instead of employee managing which will in turn increase employee Productivity. Have you ever had any of these challenges? • Employees who are always coming in late? • Employees who are just there to do their job and go home? • Unproductive employees who you pay 8 hours and produce 5 ½ hours of work? • Employees who seem unmotivated? • Have employees who are always frustrated and uptight? • Have a lot of turn over with employees? • Struggle to understand your employees' motivation? • Struggle to grow your business? • Feel like your employees always need to be told what to do? One day I went on a quest to solve these challenges and decided that I had to dig in and figure everything out with why I was having so many issues. Even better, I wanted to know how I could help my company & my employees become better and make more money. The results I obtained were amazing. When I took the time to realize and pay attention to these issues it was amazing what turned around and how different my company became. I went on to perfect everything and I transitioned my employees into a team and created a culture that paid huge dividends. If you are like I was, you might think that the old way of dealing with employees still is the way to go but I am here to tell you that it is not the right way to go. Today is a whole new business environment and you need to join me in the new world instead. The solution I have for you is Employee Behavior Modification which is the new world way of creating a team, enforcing the behavior you desire and so much more.
